TEKKEN 4 VERY DISSAPOINTING!

I am the master at all tekken series hands down. You guys are probably saying yea right. But I dont care I will beat anybody anytime anywhere at any tekken. Especially Tekken 3 and tekken tag. But I am not trying to brag the only reason I am saying this is to let everybody know that I have litteraly put thousands and thousands of hours into the tekken series and can do every combo and throw combo or move that the game has. and can do them with the greatest 0f ease. ...i have even done moves that arent in the strategy guide. but enough about me I bought this game knowing that it was going to be better than tekken tag. but i was wrong, the only thing that is better about this game is that the graphics and backrounds surpase all other tekken games. there are hardly any improvements at all in character gameplay in fact the improvements make some people [worse]. such as Jin one of my personal favorites they took all his combos away wich is what pretty much made jin work and gave him abunch of ... simple moves. it reminds me of virtual fighter 4 the way he plays ,and all my other favorite guys have no new moves or combos whatsoever. plus they cut down on the characters bigtime and put some goofball characters in there such as violet. And is if we needed a girl version of eddy. and what ... is heihachi doing in a ... daiper. what has namco done to one of the best guys.(who has no new moves.)king I thought for sure he would have a new throw combo but he didnt.(at least they didnt change the way he plays.)and also I really hate the new sidestepping deal I thought the old sidestepping was just fine. I dont know maybe I just expected more out of the newest edition of probably the greatest fighter series ever made. But if you dont beleive me go check it out. but i recomend tekken tag. as for tekken 4 they just should have done more.

The worst Tekken ever

This is posibly the worst Tekken ever. Good graphics I have to admit, bad game. You start off with some characters like {Kazuya} and you go onto secret characters like {Jin Kazama} and there is a whole new story mode where it tells the characters story and theres arcade mode you know. There is Tekken force, thats ok. Now im going to give a 1 star for graphics nothing else. but my favorite is Tekken 2 and 3 so play those. Thats my review. P.S. The game is dumb

Hmmmm Another Tekken ha!

Alright let me poot it this way, the tekken series is getting old , really old, and PS2 is also. Come on its been out a year before all the other new generation systems of course it has better reviews. The PS2's only good for GTA Franchise so other than the GTA games PS2 games [are weak]. Tekken will be like all the other ones. You wana fighting game, use youre brain and get Gamecube, Super Smash Brothers Melee, 3 extra controlers, and youre friends.... Just trust me and get Gamecube. IT has so many party games coming out and also allot better games. Like SUper Monckey Ball, Star Fox, MArio Party 4, wario land, Metroid Prime, Zelda(no brainer its gona be good), and more. So just forget about PS2 and Tekken and get gamecube You'll be better of.

Oh, Tekken. How you have not changed in 5 years.

I enjoyed the original Tekken. No, really. It's nothing compared to Virtua Fighter, or Soul Calibur in the arcades (or on Dreamcast, if you're lucky enough to have an Agetec stick like me), but there's always room for a new fighter, right? Wrong. Tekken 2 came and went, same moves, new characters, better graphics, c'est la vie. Same with 3. Now 4 is out on PS2, and all the fannies are running to stores gasping for air, while screaming with their meticulous voices, "Tekken! PS2 r00lz!" But, I can't judge, because their humor is far more entertaining than the overall therapy I'll require some day because of it. So, in short, if you enjoy playing the same game over and over again... knock yourself out. But, if you're above that, go check out Virtua Fighter 4, or maybe wait for Soul Calibur 2. Besides, PS2 isn't all it's cracked up to be.. all of you who've gone to a public school during the 5th grade will know what I mean when I say this about propaganda: don't jump on the bandwagon.

THIS GAME STINKS!

I hate this game! They don't have any of the good charactors from tekken 1, 2, and 3! I was really dissapointed. I can't beleive I actually put this on my wish list! Take my advice and DON'T buy this game. It is a waste of money. I mean, the controls are just a pain. Don't even get me started on the moves. Half the good moves take so many buttons that by the time you can hit all the buttons, your opponet has already slugged you. If you want my opinion, buy Tekken 3. I mean, the moves in Tekken 3 are not as tricky as these. Also the graphics in this one are nothing compared to the other 4(including Tekken Tag Tournoument

Yes, the game looks great, in every sense. Yes, it's got "new" features like walls, useful sidesteps, and Just Frame moves (moves that require precise timing instead of complicated commands), but then again, these were all in VF3 more than five years ago. There are new characters, and some completely revamped old ones, which is good to see, and there's the usual plethora of fun extra modes, like Tekken Force.

Unfortunately, a fighting game is all about combat, and this is where Tekken 4 falls short. The CPU is even stupider than it was in previous Tekken games (the game can be beaten using only Heihachi's b+2 backfist and 1,2 jabs). Against humans, the lack of character balance is very apparent: Jin and Steve dominate all others to the point of absurdity, and some characters on the low end like King and Kuma have no chance against any of the top 5, even with Kuma's 75% damage two-hit combo.

If you're not interested in playing Tekken 4 seriously and just want to have some fun, this game is great. If you want to put some serious time and effort into a fighting game, though, there are much better options on the PS2.

No way to increase the power-bar in the options menu !

This is my first Tekken game. I think that this part 4 has fantastic graphics, but I am unable to truly enjoy the game because the power-bars are so weak.

I am able to kill an opponent with about 9 solid kicks. This makes each round seem waaaaaay too short. There is no way to increase the power-bar in the options menu, so that your opponent can take more damage.

I also have Virtual Fighter Evolution. In VFE, you are able to increase the power-bars from 100% to 400%. This allows each round to be longer, and more importantly = more challenging !!

The second fault is that not everything in the environment is breakable. There are a lot of glass windows in the environment, but they are NOT designed to be breakable. Only about 30% of the environmental objects are breakable. I wished that everything was breakable.

Tekken needs a makeover

This is just the same old tekken I have been playing since Tekken 3.It doesn't even have the variety of characters that tekken tag tournament has and the new closed enviroments and walls are just lame. The graphics are not that great and not the improvement you would expect from one tag tournament with the reduction of characters and all. Buy Virtua Fighter 4 instead.

Could have been better!

The graphics and background stages are cool but every thing else sucks. Dead or Alive3, Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and even Dragonball Z: Budokai are better. Dragon ball z's stages are horrible but the moves and the powers are awesome. The only problem with this game is the character moves, stunts, storyline, intro movies and endings. Tekken 2 and 3 are way better. If you are a tekken fan first rent it than buy it.

Tekken 4: more of the same game

Well...as my title implies, Tekken 4 is merely more of the same game. If you're new to the Tekken series, and cost is not an issue, then I would buy Tekken 4 simply because the graphics are better. But if you're looking for VALUE, Tekken Tag Tournament is a better way to go. If you already have some Tekken games, then don't even bother with this one (unless you ONLY have the first Tekken). But personally, you're much better off abandoning the Tekken series and getting Virtua Fighter 4. Trust me, VF4 is MUCH better (it has an AI that's about 1000000000000 etc. times better than Tekken's; you actually have to change your patterns with that one. Plus the gameplay is a lot better...a lot quicker and more challenging) and let's not forget the price gap between VF4 and Tekken 4. Nothing too special about this game so I would've given it 3 stars, but the fact that only the graphics made a huge improvement docks down from its rating (the only other new goodies are Tekken Force mode which is nearly identical to Final Fight for the SNES sans the graphics and the sidestepping system...the blocked in, walled up stages are really that spiffy...especially cuz VF4 already has em =P)
