this game is great!!!!! the gameplay is cool the graphics are awesome and the story is kickass.Everything is good except for a small glitch.Sometimes when u press the B button on the review deck function u cant return to the field and u have to turn it off to be able to play again.Only some games get this glith but if u do get it i suggest u start a new game and if the glitch is still preventing u from passing the game then return it and get another kingdom hearts chain of memories game.

GET THIS OR YOU'LL BE SORRY!

This is one of my complete favorite games. It has intro and outro movies that look almost like the normal graphics on KH one, the end credits have the whole "Simple and Clean" KH one theme (the slow/best version) in great sound quality, the unique card system is creative, useful, and fun, story-wise, IT ROCKS, and Castle Oblivion and Organization XIII totally gives the story crazyness (especially Axel) and will keep you in the middle of suspense for a LLLLOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGGG time. After you beat the "SORA" story, you get to play as someone else he knows in a whole different story (I won't tell you who)! Also , after you beat that person's story, you get to see a couple pics from KH2 of Roxas in Twilight Town. If you love KH and KH2 as much as I love them (to death, to be exact) GET THIS GAME AS QUICK AS YOU CAN!!! IF YOU DON'T, YOU'LL BE SORRY!

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.........

While I've had the pleasure of playing abit of the original Kingdom Hearts game, it wasn't until I played Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories that I actually took any interest in the series. Don't get me wrong, I'm a strong supporter of both Square-Enix and Disney. It was just, at first sight, Kingdom Hearts didn't quite gel with me. So, recently, I go into my local videogame store around payday looking for me a portable RPG to play. Sadly, the Nintendo DS nor the PSP didn't have any games that I hadn't already played so I took a look at the Gameboy Advance section. While there were other games I wanted to play, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories won out in the end. I don't know whether it was outstanding boxart, the fact that the store clerk told me it was an excellent game, or the fact that Donald and Goofy appealed to my inner child...the more I looked at the game, the more I wanted it.

Upon booting up the game, I could tell from the opening intro FMV cutscene that production values were definitely high on this game. I was simply amazed that, despite its' technical limitations, the system was able to do it at all....but it was. The game itself, although changed into more of a card-battle type action-RPG, was a deeply challenging one that felt like I was playing the console game. From what I've heard, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is more of a recap of the first game but with a different story. You see, in this story, Sora journeys through Castle Oblivion looking for his friends. As he does, he battles through another version of his memories. Upon completing the game, you can play through again as Riku with a different storyline as well. So, you get two games in one...basically. While I've yet to touch the second game, one thing is for sure- Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is one of the best GBA experiences I've had since Golden Sun. If you've read any of my reviews; you'd know, by now, that Golden Sun is one of my all-time favorites. So, to make the comment I made, you know it'd have to be something special.

While this game will definitely appeal to Kingdom Hearts fans looking for another Final Fantasy cameo filled fix, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories will also appeal to Casual gamers as well.

Be forewarned, though, this game isn't no Yu-Gi-Oh! or Duel Masters and it's a very challenging game..indeed. So, come in looking for a challenge.

Hopefully, Tetsuya-san and the fine folks at Square-Enix will continue the Kingdom Hearts story with more portable games(yet, without the card-battle angle). I hope so, anyways.

This is the best taste of what we could see in KH2...

Back in 2001 when it was announced that Disney Interactive and Squaresoft (now known as Square Enix) were teaming up to create a RPG exclusively for the PS2 featuring Disney characters, both Disney fans and gamers probably had the exact same thought running through their collective heads: "WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY THINKING?!?!?"

Doubters on both sides of the fence were silenced when Kingdom Hearts was released the following year and received rave reviews from game sites and magazines all over the place. The apparent marriage of Disney fun to a RPG scenario was a marriage made in heaven and left gamers clamoring for a sequel to KH thanks to the ending.

Well, Square Enix has given gamers a little teaser of the future of KH2 with the release of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, but this game is being made exclusively for the Game Boy Advance portable system. KH:COM is a "bridging" game, meaning that it takes place virtually after the end of KH1 and sets events in motion for KH2, which should be out HOPEFULLY this year.

Sora, the Keyblade-wielding hero of KH1, has returned to his world after virtually saving 2 worlds from utter destruction by the Heartless that threatened his world and the Disney world. Donald and Goofy have also returned with him, but Sora feels as if something is missing since the others that help him in the final battle did not return with him. A mysterious stranger appears and tells Sora that he can regain what he wants but in return he must be willing to lose something valuable and warns that when he returns from the adventure he may not be himself.

Sora, Donald and Goofy later finds themselves in a place called Castle Oblivion which somehow replicates the worlds and people that Sora visited in KH1 and so the quest begins to regain what he wants, unaware of the loss that is soon to come in return.

The graphics of KH:COM are stunning for a GBA game, especially the opening cutscene movie. Also, the play system is a real-time card system where you use cards to attack and execute special abilities like healing and freezing enemies. You'll run into more than 100 different Disney characters and build Sora to prepare hime for the final battle to take down the Castle and prepare for the future (KH2)

All in all, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories could be considered KH 1.5 but this game is definitely a great taste of what is to come in KH2...

Flawed, but entertaining

Ah, Kingdom Hearts. A legend on the PS2, and now making its debut on the GBA. I've heard so much about this game, I simply have to try it out myself. So, it goes that I spent $35 from my latest paycheck on the game, and thankfully, it didn't disappoint.

To be honest, I'm not a keen fan of RPGs, primarily due to the need for repetitive, randomized battles just so that your character can level up. There are a few exceptions, like X-Men Legends for example, that incorporated these battles into the story seamlessly, making it less mindless. But the majority of RPGs still rely on such battles, and Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is not an exception.

Fortunately, the Kingdom Hearts brand is more than just repetitive battles. The fact that it incorporates a card-based fighting system makes the exchanges a little more interesting than merely just swinging your weapons all the time. The need for specific cards during battle means that building up a deck is important. Different stages, or "worlds", as witnessed in this game, require different strategies, which means it's not a good idea to approach them with only one set of cards. The cards also allow you to do combos and special attacks, which will please fans who enjoy a more advanced form of fighting other than mere melee.

Of course, card-based fighting also means that fighting itself is restricted to what cards you've. Some argue that this takes away the spontaneity of battle. To a certain extent, this is true. Also, while the system calls for strategized battles, the battle will become so intense towards the end that you simply won't have the time to plan. These take away the intention of the system. Still, it's not to that much of a problem that it'll take away your enjoyment of the game.

It also helps that the graphics for this game is really good. You should already know that Kingdom Hearts incorporates characters from Square and Disney, so apart from enjoying the beautiful backgrounds in the various worlds, you also get to see great renditions of familiar characters like Aladdin, Ariel, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pinocchio and Winnie the Pooh. If you've a lady who's not very keen of you playing games all the time, these should convince her to let you have a go!

The audios is this game are also enjoyable, even though they're mostly rehashed from the original Kingdom Hearts. Each world has its own set of music, and they generally complement the mood of the world nicely. A minor issue I had is that somehow the music tends to turn softer at times by itself. This happens for a period of about a few seconds before reverting back to normal. It's not a big issue, but it does bother me because it happens so often. The again, it could be the game, it could be the catridge, or it could even be my GBA.

In summary, this is a game that I'd recommend for gaming fans who like a good RPG. It'd have got a higher score if the dialogues weren't so cheesy, and if it had added some puzzle elements. Still, a great game overall, and the fact that it unlocks an additional mode after you beat the game just makes it all the more good for replay value.

I'm a little late

I got this game when it first came out and it has been treating me pretty well.I don't know what wrong with the people who gave it a one.Even X-play,a show whose hosts hate card battle games, gave it a 4 out of 5.The card battles actually mix up the gameplay from the last games hack n'slash.A hacker like that would be truly boring on the GBA.You fight using cards and you block using cards, but depending on you card level, your card may not have any effect. That is where the strategy kicks in you dumb one stars.Long story short-buy the game.

Awesome game!

I just spent the whole night playing this game; and I have to say that I am impressed. There are some references to the past Kingdom Heart game, so people who have played the first one will probably enjoy this game a bit more then people who havent.

The new system of battle is actually quite fun in my opinion. Its a bit like the old one really - there were actually a lot of parts in the game that I actually just hit the 'a' button repeativly. (Which is just about all you do in the first Kingdom Hearts game. Slash!killkill!) So if some old fans of the first game are a bit scared to try this one because of the 'new battle system' - don't be. It can be a lot like the old one at times.

Its also fun collecting the cards and seeing what new attacks you can gain - and they also prove useful for when fighting big!boss battles. All of your enemies go off of the card system as well; and thus they (just like you) have to shuffle their cards once they go through their deck. Which also means you can hit them rather hard while they are doing so. ;) - (and if that made no sense, trust me - you will get it when you play it.)

The storyling keeps you involved, and while some parts do hit rather close to being copies of the first game; it still manages to keep your attention.

Over all; this game is great. I'm about half-way through and am very much enjoying it. :) I would recommend it HIGHLY to fans of the last game - but would also rec it to fans of other games who want to try something a bit new. :)

Can you beleive it???¿¿¿

I have been waiting for this game to come FOREVER. I got to play it!! My cousin is Japanese and she brought me back KH: CoM. Too bad it was in Japanese and hard to understand. But hey, the battle system is GREAT. You have to use these cards to make special attacks. There are a lot of "unknown" in the game. My cousin (her name is Nahoko by the way) interpreted some when she came over for Thanksgiving. It seems that Sora is tempted to beleive the false since he lost his memories. Well...I won't say anymore!

to the guy who said superb...........ITS BETTER THAN SUPERB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KINGDOM HEARTS IS A HOLY GAME!!!!! this game is the exact opposite of evil games such as "halo 2" (which i despise btw) and "gta: san andreas" to any1 who loves warm hearted storysthis game should be more than enough for you! and b4 i go im going to quote my favorite verse from the song i just hope i dont get sued...

"Wish i could prove i love you
But does that mean i have to walk on water?
when we are older you'll understand
it's enough when i say so
andmaybe some things are that simple"

i like this verse because it shows my true feelings about a girl i love..... well cya!
