I'm a 21 year old female otaku of the Japanese version of the series. I will watch the english verision if I'm bored. Anyways I like playing The Sacred Cards more than World Wide Edition. The deck that I created has mostly female/dragon type monsters. I have beaten every person I've dueled so far except Bandit Keith. He really pisses me off because he keeps getting such high level monsters at the beginning of the duel. I really love this game because you can buy more than one card like the Blue Eyes White Dragon to get the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon. Once you have enough money after dueling every person you see you just input the password from off the card and then buy the card and repeat until you have three blue eyes in your trunk. The only downside to the game is that you have to duel alot to get deck capacity points if you want the really good cards in your deck. But hey that's the challenge if it were too easy then I probably would have sold it already. It's pretty addictive. I'm still trying to increase my deck capacity to have the really good cards in my deck. Hope this helps.

This game is great!!!

Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards returns players to Battle City (previously featured in Yu-Gi-Oh! Worldwide Edition: Stairway to the Destined Duel) as they seek top billing in a trading card tournament that leads to a battle for the ultra-powerful Egyptian God Cards. Players will need to gain experience points to level up the characters as they seek out these highly coveted cards. This all-new original saga features over 100 duelists, and 900 cards. This game doesn't come with th three egytion god cards but you do play with them in the game. This game has been confirmed to contain these three cards. Ryroku,Negate Attack & Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth. Whats also cool about this game is that you can walk around battle citey like in the pokemon game. so buy this game because it is worth every cent.

Not as childish as it seems...

Ok, I'm 14, and I love the show. Why? Because I know what it's really about, and hopefully the game will capture the image. When I saw this game under the new releases, I was as happy as I can get. They finally brought it to America! Any true fan should have already heard of it... and, well, if you haven't, then you have some research to do! Anyway, people in the reviews are sayig it's rumored you walk aroun.. You do walk around. You can duel characters from the show such as Ryou and Jounochi, (Bakura and Joey,) and of course Yugi. Besides the main characters you can doel a ton of other people as well as minor characters. To advance in the game, you must duel people and collect their locator cards. Once you get aroiund 6 then you qualifyu for the finals. THe best part of the game is it basically follows the battle city story line, and even allows you to duel Yami Malik. Though the sprites, (the characters you control andsee) aren't that great the character art is. Yugi looks like his innocent self while Marik and his yamis psychoticness is captured as well. Hopefully, the game will set some things straight about the characters and their intentions... (MALIK AND MARIK DO NOT WANT TO BECOME PHAROAH!!!)

To sum things up, get this game if you enjoy the cards, watch the show, want to learn more about the show, or just like the awesome looks of the characters. I can assure you, if you really like the show, no, not the dub, the jap. version, well...maybe the dub too, you'll love the game.

Very good game !

I would say this is by far the best Yu-gi-oh so far. Ten times the graphics of world wide edition. Plus, you can walk around and interact with people, rather then chose icons. There is supposed to be 1000 duelists total that you can face, but I myslef have only faced 20 or so. The only aspect of this game that live up to the Yu-gi-oh gameing line is the type-rule. Supposedly, if one type such as pyro wins automatically no matter what the atk or def is against a insect or plant. I would definetly recommend this game to all you Yu-gi-oh fans. The actual card game may take time some time to get in down for all you begginers, but after a while it gets to be really fun. From my mind to your ears, see you all in the stores !

Not bad, but not very good either.

If you're an avid fan of the trading card game, this game is probably worth it for the 3 promo cards you get in it (perfectly ultimate great moth, riryoku, and negate attack). But if you're looking for a gaming experience like Worldwide edition, look elsewhere.
This game does not comply fully with the trading card game rules, opting to settle for an RPG-style game using the interface from Dark Duel stories, that has been slightly modified. The game is kinda short, and really annoying when it comes to restricting the cards you can use in the game.
I, personally, got bored with the game quickly and don't play it anymore.
If you're a rabid fan of every little schlocky piece of Yu-Gi-Oh merchandise, by all means buy it. But serious duelists will either want to look elsewhere, or get it for the promo cards. Believe me, It's probably cheaper than getting the cards a la carte from some hobby site.

THE BEST GAME

Most of my review will be based on the Duel Monsters 7 game, which I am pretty sure The Sacred Cards will be based on. Konami has perfectly released the game . It comes out November 7th, which is right about when the Battle City saga, ends. This game has a different battle system then the two other American games, which I didn't like. This new one is not like the real card game, which is disappointing. The game is mediocre. Its not really hard, nor really easy. Right now I just beat the mime guy, and my highest attck for a lvl 4 monster is 1400, and the highest attck for the mime was 1100. Probably the funnest thing in this game, is walking around and going through the storyline. I think if they change the battle system to the normal one, for the American version (which they probably won't), it would make the game perfect.

I think that this game will be good because........

Well, first of all, I heard that you can actully walk around the city and duel other people by talking to them. The cards will be tight, with great effects. i hope that when i get this game it will not be gay. so i would reccomend it. i like the fact that u get to walk around the city. i hope the graphics are good. oh yea...... instead of buying the guide to get all of the cards just look at the bottom of the card you have and there should be 8 numbers. then enter those 8 numbers and it will say that u have that card. it would be stupid if u are an advanced dueler and u buy the guide to any yugioh guide. i THINK THAT THE CARDS IN THIS GAME ARE RIRYOKU, PERFECTLY ULTIMATE MOTH, AND NEGATE ATTACK. YOU CAN ACTULLY USE THE GOD CARDS IN THIS GAME ALSO.

Awesome Game!

Overall, I think that this game was awesome! Unlike previous games, in this one you can actually walk around and challenge people to duel. You'll never get bored because of all the plot twists that come up, even if you have seen the TV show and are expecting them. In the game, you're able to travel all around the city, not just in the main square but also to the art museum, card shop, park, etc. It's very fun and I'd recommend it to anyone.
There are a few downsides, though: You have to buy your own cards from the card shop, and most good ones aren't in stock. This means your deck is going to consist of mostly 900 ATK powered monsters. Also, lots of times when I tried to put new cards in my deck, an alert came up saying that the card cost was greater than the card capacity and wouldn't let me leave until I put my deck back the exact same way that it was. I've read the instruction manual and it says nothing about what this was, so I'm still baffled.
The only other thing was that this game was very short (I beat it in three days). When you've gotten out of the finals, you can't just keep playing and dueling random people, the game is OVER.
Otherwise I think that this was a very awesome game, and I would have given it 4 1/2 stars if I could have.

IT'S OKAY, PEOPLE

For One, I Like the 3 PROMOS: THe Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth, Negate Attack, and some magic card (forgot name) but that's pretty good. Very good promos.

Good Points:
The story line is good, like Battle City in the Yu-Gi-Oh! series. You get to move around and challenge familiar duelists like Mai, Rex Raptor, Bones, Espa Roba, Weevil Underwood, etc. Can obtain God Cards. Long Game Plot.

Bad Points:
Too hard to get started. You have a Deck Capacity and it's hard to use good cards as first. You start with monters who have attacks from 200-900 (900 if you're lucky). Maximum deck amount is 40 cards. You wager cards so if you lose a good card you can't get it back.

I played it for a day or two and then I put it down. It's okay. Yu-Gi-Oh! fans might be slightly disappointed. I was, and I love the series.

side note: The characters look really good. The graphics on the cards suck. They don't come alive or anything at all. I suggest any other GB Advanced games for Yu-Gi-oh! because it's easier to get stronger.
