I would wait till the price drops to get this game for XBox. It is so freaking easy, I beat the single player missions in like 4 hours. If it was online for XBox I would highly reccomend it. But if you also have a PS2 get it for that, if not, wait. Its fun and a ton better than Frontline, but there aren't enough missions, and other than getting lost the game is just sooooooooooooo easy!

Huge disappointment!

I loved MOH Frontline and still play it frequently. MOH Rising Sun is a HUGE letdown. It's short, the AI is terrible, the weapons are boring, there are very few extras, the levels are underwhelming, and they messed up the grenade function, which seems like a small thing until you play the game and can't really use grenades strategically as you can in Frontline (see other reviews for more specifics about how the grenade function changed). Also, the graphics are nothing special, with the exception of the opening sequence, which is where the makers of this game seemed to have spent all their efforts. Too bad they didn't put more time and effort into gameplay itself. This game is worth about $15; unfortunately, I paid $50. This game is a bummer. Don't waste your money.

Needs better gameplay

Being a fan of MOH, i was rather disappointed with this installment. The game just seems like it was rushed to the shelves. The levels aren't as extensive as i'd have liked, such as the missions and the amount of freedom you have to choose your own routes during each mission. The graphics at times are so darkened that you can't even tell where you're going. The AI also seems lessened then Frontline. On a high note, the co-op play in this addition instead of just the usual one-on-one is a great addition. Overall this game is a good rental but not worth the asking price of 49.95.

I have read reviews from players who loved this game and said the graphics are excellent. Is this the only game you have ever played?! Have you ever played Halo or Ghost Recon? As far as I am concerned this game is not worth buying! The movement of the players is spastic and they look almost deformed. The maps are too simple. You can't even open doors. Worst of all is the lack of continuity in the gameplay. One second you're in a battleship shooting an anti-aircraft cannon and the next moment you are in a different boat inside a gun turret. Then you jump to being on a bridge on a Pacific Island. I found myself asking what timewarp I stepped into. This is the worst first person shooter game I have ever seen! In normal mode the enemy just stands around pretending you are not there so you can get in the first shot. Boring!

Save yourself some money. Buy Ghost Recon (or Island Thunder) instead. If you don't believe me rent Rising Sun and Ghost Recon at the same time. Play them both. You won't buy Rising Sun!

Disappointing: Rent don't buy!

As a fan of the first Medal of Honor, Frontline on the PS2, I was really looking forward to MOH: Rising Sun. Since so many WWII games take place in Europe against the Nazi's the idea of staging one in the Pacific against the Japanese sounded like a great one. Opening up with Pearl Harbor as the first battle similar to MOH: Frontline's D-Day invasion was also a great idea. So what went wrong? The Pearl Harbor sequence is way too short compared to the D-Day sequence of its predecessor Frontline. I played in normal mode and the enemy is "dumb as dirt". Often waiting until I was practically on top of them before shooting. The shooting was weird, often times it would take 3 or 4 shots to the head before someone would die. I don't remember any shooting problems with the first one. Characters would walk into walls and half of their body would disappear into the wall! The graphics are poor compared to the Tom Clancy games (Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, etc.). Backgrounds appear and disappear and at times my character would get stuck and I had to either kill myself or start over again to fix it. Doesn't anybody play these things and check for bugs before they are released? While historically accurate, I wish that EA had put as much time in improving the game play as they did in the research for the game. I forgave Frontline for it's graphics and game play problems because it was the first one, but they could have improved it for the sequel and especially with the better graphic capacity of the Xbox. That's not to say that the game isn't worth playing. The story is solid. The different types of challenges from floating down the river, riding an elephant and shooting from a plane is good. I am an average FPS game player but when I can complete a game in normal mode without cheating in such a short time, then the game is either too short or too easy. In this case I think it might be both. Here's hoping that the 3rd one in the series has better game play and graphics. I think I will either rent it or wait for the reviews before I spend another $50. The games seems rushed as if it were released a few months early. I expect better from EA games.

I have only played two Medal of Honor games, but this one is very good. The graphics are good, and the missions are realistic. The only downfall is that there aren't a lot of missions. I beat the game in about five hours, but you can always play against the computer in multiplayer on more levels. This game is definitely worth buying.

*And a message to my homely friend Joshy, We did fight the Japs during WWII.

One of the worst!

Ok, I thought that since it was Medal of Honor, The game would be much better then what it looks like on the internet. So I purchased it at work [I work for EB Games]. Anyways, The game its self is HORRIBLE!!!! The walking animations makes it look like you're made out of rubber, It takes 3 shots with a stupid sniper rifle to take down the enemy and the levels look cheap! This game is terrible. It's very unrealistic and isnt worth 50 bucks! Come on EA Games, GET IT TOGETHER!

Ruined a great series!

I spent almost a year playing MAOH 1, and I never got bored. When I heard about Rising Sun, I couldnt wait, I knew it was going to be as good as the first one. I was wrong, while it is a great game to play and just as much fun as the first one. It is WAY WAY TO SHORT, I was in shock when the credits came rolling only after the 7 or 8th misson. They save system wasnt very cool, but it made it more challenging. I would recommend this game, I am just VERY disappointed of the shortness of it.

Sucks...

I played it in about 5 hours and the ending felt cut off.. it's like suddenly the game is over. I know it's supposed to leave me wanting more.. but all it made me want was the original.

Don't waste your money.. just play the original over again!!!

Great while it lasted

This game was pretty fun...If you're a fan of Halo and Co-op play, you'll enjoy this game...The only problem is that it was way too simple. Co-op took about a day of play to complete, and for single player mode it took just a few days to complete. Should have rented or borrowed it instead.
