This game blows

I totally and completely agree with every negative comment here.

I actually liked the game right up to the point where it abruptly ends. I was left with a WTF feeling! I mean seriously, ending it out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean (and not even on an island)?!!! I mean come on did EA fire the guys from Frontline and start over? I wouldn't even recommend renting this game, more like borrow it from a friend maybe.

If there is a Rising Sun 2 coming down the pike they should give a trade-in credit (1 for 1) for everyone who got stuck with this lemon!

Wonderful, Wonderful Game!

I have recently purchased MOH Rising Sun and I LoVe it! The pros are many, and the cons very few. The historical significance is greeeaaat, and the Pearl Harbor level is great. (For the person who just tried to fire on the planes with the rifle given to you; thats wrong, if you explore a little you'll find a machine gun on an upper deck). The AI is pretty good, sometimes the Japenese enemies will be sort of jerky, and i had a bullet zip thru at a close range head shot with and M1, but only once. The terrain is excellent, the forest is completely legit. The other great thing is the ambushes you perpetrate, the numerous soldiers and resistance groups that help you, and the amazing extras if you look around. For instance in one level, you look one way and some Brits are gunning at a Japenese car and eventually drive it off the road into the river! The game is filled with great situations like this!
Probably the best aspect of the game is how gritty and real it is, you actually have people you have gotten to know killed in it, and sometimes feel some genuine anger, not just that triggered by an elusive enemy. MOH Frontline was good yeah, but not like this!!! For all of you with bad reviews, keep your opinions, I just go back and play my favorite levels. For you reading this review, I hope I have made a MOHRS fan of you! If you are unsure rent it first, if you find it ended quickl, dont buy it. Like I said, I just go back and play my favorite levels! Co-op is great too!!!!

Very Poor Quality...Backgrounds Popup Last Minute

Metal of Honor Frontline is far better than this game. Rising Sun is definately a product of lazy sloppy programming. There are several points in the game that jam up the Xbox, backgrounds/scenery pop up as you walk up to them, and the enemy AI is aweful.

Basically, if there are a lot of enemies or moving objects (i.e. planes in sky) the game slows down noticably and becomes jerky. The elephant riding sequence is very frustrating b/c the game play becomes so jerky that you have trouble aiming.

Another pathetic flaw is the scenery/background. You will literally walk up to blank scenery with enemies standing in blank space, and then the background, scenery, and details load showing you the locations of all hiding enemies. They also left out a lot of details like friendlies not even responing to you shooting them etc. Snyping is a more difficult b/c invisible edges to object block bullets.

Also, as other reviews mentioned...you just start getting into the game and the credits roll when it seems that you are only half way through...no difficult last level or anything. Frontline seemed much longer than this game. I probably only play Xbox 1-4 hours per week total and finished this game in no more than 3 sittings. I paid $50 for this game when it first came out...this is definately one to rent or wait until its a Platinum hit at $10-15.

Pros: Great sound and the shotgun is a nice addition.

Im sorry for saying this but this game is not worth a second look.me and my father love the MOH series, but we beat it in 3 hours. It is very unchallenging and a waist of money. Now that you can buy this game for 5 dollars i think its worth it. if your spending anything over 15 dollars dont consider buying this game. A complete putdown to moh lover.

the graphics are no good and its bugged. it takes 5 sniper rounds to kill 1 enemy, rediculous. also u can shoot the enemy in the head and he will flinch, :P

i know cause Im acually done beating it.

i dont recommend this game to any1.

Rising Sun doesn't Rise above Frontline

Medal of Honor Rising Sun is a game that only looks promising. Looks can be deceiving and it looks like this is a time when they were. It seems that EA has figured out that the name Medal of Honor racks up sales. Well, let's just say that this will change all that as many are already disappointed with Rising Sun.

After playing MOH: Frontline can you blame gamers for expecting a little more frm Rising Sun? No, you can't. In fact, Rising Sun fails in just about every aspect that Frontline succeeded in.

The most noticeable thing right off the bat are the graphics. Simple graphics that actually lack a bit of detail. There is no real detail in most buildings. But the good news is that the gamespeed isn't slow. Still, there are points where just a tad bit more detail was needed.

The gameplay is what comes off as a disappointment when compared to Frontline. Missions in Frontline were very fun to do, but these feel more like a chore. The missions aren't long and they're simple, thanks to the weak enemy AI.

The AI in this game is terrible. In Frontline I remember that fighting enemies was a challenge. I could toss a grenade at a soilder in Frontline and they'd actually pick it up and toss it back! I knew I wasn't dealing with just any game at that point. So why can't the soilders do that in this one? Actually, it gets worse. If you encounter two troops at once you can actually kill one while the other simpley watches and even reload while you're at it. Not only that but all troop attack in the same fashion. They run up to you blindly and "hope" to get a shot off. It takes the fun out of the game when your enemies AI is nothing higher than that of a Goomba in Mario.

The Multiplayer I can't help but admit was a bit of a letdown. It's nice to play with someone but the fact is, the multiplayer is a little boring. Missions actually differ depending on whether or not you actually play with two characters at a time. For example, player one will have to help player two advance forward. This makes the game a little funner but it still makes for an annoyance.

The deathmatch is where the Multiplayer fails to deliever. It's rather boring to run around looking for your opponent in a rather small map with few weapons to obtain. It just isn't exciting. Play other games in a deathmatch and you'll see that Rising Sun is rather boring here.

However, the music and the narrative cutscenes are fascinating. The game scores high here. Music is usually good in MOH games and this one doesn't present any really bad music. The historical scenes also have a pretty decent narrator too. So there are lots of secrets to unlock in this game, the questions is are you willing to play for them?

This game is more of a rent only. It's short and easy and even the secrets can be unlocked rather easily. You're better off this way. Rising Sun just can't seem to rise above Frontine. The sequel comes out next year so let's hope that EA can pull it together and make that one worth a buy!

Forget the bad reviews by those losers...

Rising Sun is much better than Frontline.

The graphics are realistic, the gameplay is excellent, and the sound, levels, and overall feel of the game is better than any of the games in the Medal of Honor series. The bad reviews this game gets are stupid. Guys complain because they lose and can't kill the bad guys.

-Co-op mode is fun and it is almost impossible to lose...so if you want a challenge play it on one player

-Single-player is alot harder and takes longer to beat.

-Multiplayer is great! The levels and "bots" help create awesome battle sequences!

-The Pearl Harbor level is dramatic and much more detailed than the hokie beach raid in Frontline.

great game, too short

First off, i loved this game, yet i feel sort of decieved, ive been reading previews and reviews for months now, all of which claim that this game features 10 levels, from pearl harbor to a philippine pow camp. I have beat this game already and i count 9 levels. The pow camp level which every preview website speaks of simply doesnt seem to exist, unless its a secret level to be unlocked? If anybody has also found this ackward please let me know because maybe im missing something here.

Tempted to give three stars, because, as everyone is saying, the game is one of the shortest out there (rivaling "Hunter: Redeemer"). I agree with the other reviewer...when the credits started rolling, I just about dropped my controller. I couldn't believe that was it. I completed the game two days after buying it. The reason I gave four stars is that the gameplay is excellent. Good array of weapons, controls are easy to get used to, and there is a good mix of action, with rapid-fire shoot-everything-that-moves mixed in with strategic sniping and quietly crawling around for good positioning to create an ambush on unsuspecting enemies. The game has brief movie clips of interviews with actual WWII veterans, movie reels from wartime, and a cheesey "letters from home" series of clips. I found that the combined time of watching and listening to all these "extras" added up to more than the time spent playing the game itself. It felt less like I was playing Xbox, and more like I was watching the History Channel.

Great FPS, but not a winner.

The Japanese were not the only ones to lose WWII, this game did in detail level and low resolution. This game fails from low textures and some glichy backgrounds. The actual first person view is great, believe me these are some of the best weapon design I've seen ever, but the background really puts the game down, but not so low that this game isn't worth it. The control is tight and some little control problems have been fixed over the first X-Box installment and the character interaction is better, but it's that big polygon right smack in the middle of the path that makes you grin. It makes you yell at the game developers for not fixing or upping the detail. Ah! Some good points- the historical presentations is great eqipped with real WWII veterans interviews and real documented letters to the troops at sea from family at home. Sound is wonderful, bullets flying, Japanese string guitar tensing the action and voice overs that sound great. Believe me, this game is worth the price and probably a good alternative to those that hate the more violent voger FPS. In a nutshell, great game, and a must for the Medal of Honor fan.

I am so tired of wasting my money on garbage games. Graphics was terrible and the weapons sounded subpar. This is the worst medal of honor I've played thus far.
