A great FPS thats better than Frontline.

Medal of Honor: Rising Sun is a huge improvment over Frontline.

First of all, the game is even more dramatic. It starts off with the Pearl Harbor bombing scene, which is even more dramatic than the Omaha Beach scene Frontline started with. The game's levels are much more fun, and are more exciting. Rather than leading you down a linear path like in Frontline, there are several paths, and many ways to get each thing done. However, there are no puzzles, just bigger and more complex levels.

Rising Sun takes place in the Pacific. Certain levels have you in a boat, and the water effects are incredible. Graphics are very good, with more detail than in the first. There is still no blood or gore. The sound effectds are again excellent, and the music adds to the cinematic feel.

Control is great as well. There are two setups to choose from, just like in Frontline. One is classic, using one analog stick. The other is a dual analog stick setup that plays like Red Faction 2 or Halo. You can also fully customize it from the options menu.

Multiplayer is included this time around. It feels much better than the muliplayer mode from Frontline. The levels are well designed, and there are over 15 of them. There is no online play, but four player split screen is supported.

Medal of Honor: Rising Sun is a must buy FPS. It is historically accurate, and Frontline's flaws are cleaned up.

Could it get any better?

Been a fan of this series, and would honestly consider them to be the best 1st person shooter games to date. I am still in love with Frontline, but I have to say that Rising Sun exceeds any sort of expectation I might have hoped for. Story line is awesome. Graphics are top notch: more thought-provoked. And most of all, the friggin score. It is an amazing game that has yet to let me down.

This game is the best war game I have ever played. There are a lot of different weapons you can use. They have two player story mode. They also have multi player where up to 4 people can play. Get this awesome game. The people giving this game a 4 or below are retards.

This game is so cool! I beat the game on easy and hard mode. there are real, ww2 weapons, such as the M1 garand, and the thomson machine gun! You play as a corporal in ww2, and you begin at the day of infamy, during pearl harbor. You are on a ship, and the sergeant comes in and says "way up, get out of bed you maggots, get tops side, go go go!" Then you get an in game tutorial on how to work the controls, each action is introduced to the player through different events. For example, to learn how to jump, you ally runs through a hall, but before you can follow, a pipe falls in the way. Then you get a fire extinguisher, adn learn how to fire your "gun"! the levels are not huge combat fields, but usually covert operations. The beggest "whole army combat" level, is called pistol pete! the player leads a group of two marines. then, a marine who is hiding in the hills finds you, and has three indian friends. Now, if none of your men have died, your forces are at your self, two marines, one marine sergeant, and three indians. Every one has an M1 garand. then you rescue a guy, and go to blow up the canons at pistol pete.
Most other levels, you have at the most three allies, or a bunch at the begging, but they are programed to get KIa.
There is a whole mess of historical things, such as the USAF group called the flying tigers! (a good john wayne movie by the way!) and there is pearl harbor of course, and tons of historical facts and weapons and operations.
Buy this game if you're in the military, if you want to be in it, or you just like FPS.

Forget the bad reviews by those losers...

Rising Sun is much better than Frontline.

The graphics are realistic, the gameplay is excellent, and the sound, levels, and overall feel of the game is better than any of the games in the Medal of Honor series. The bad reviews this game gets are stupid. Guys complain because they lose and can't kill the bad guys.

-Co-op mode is fun and it is almost impossible to lose...so if you want a challenge play it on one player

-Single-player is alot harder and takes longer to beat.

-Multiplayer is great! The levels and "bots" help create awesome battle sequences!

-The Pearl Harbor level is dramatic and much more detailed than the hokie beach raid in Frontline.

If you enjoyed Frontline this is the game for you! From the beginning invasion of Pearl Harbor the graphics are outstanding! Low flying Zeroes, bodies floating in the water, etc. The game play is interlaced with actual footage (between senarios) that keeps you feeling like you are there. The first time a Japanese soldier charged me with a fixed bayonnet my eyebrows went like way up! Game play is challenging enough (Normal mode) and there are enough save spots to keep from going crazy.
Well worth the money!

Wonderful, Wonderful Game!

I have recently purchased MOH Rising Sun and I LoVe it! The pros are many, and the cons very few. The historical significance is greeeaaat, and the Pearl Harbor level is great. (For the person who just tried to fire on the planes with the rifle given to you; thats wrong, if you explore a little you'll find a machine gun on an upper deck). The AI is pretty good, sometimes the Japenese enemies will be sort of jerky, and i had a bullet zip thru at a close range head shot with and M1, but only once. The terrain is excellent, the forest is completely legit. The other great thing is the ambushes you perpetrate, the numerous soldiers and resistance groups that help you, and the amazing extras if you look around. For instance in one level, you look one way and some Brits are gunning at a Japenese car and eventually drive it off the road into the river! The game is filled with great situations like this!
Probably the best aspect of the game is how gritty and real it is, you actually have people you have gotten to know killed in it, and sometimes feel some genuine anger, not just that triggered by an elusive enemy. MOH Frontline was good yeah, but not like this!!! For all of you with bad reviews, keep your opinions, I just go back and play my favorite levels. For you reading this review, I hope I have made a MOHRS fan of you! If you are unsure rent it first, if you find it ended quickl, dont buy it. Like I said, I just go back and play my favorite levels! Co-op is great too!!!!
