The game that was hyped for about a year is a majordissappointment because of four reasons: 1)The game is too much likeRE and RE2. 2)The game is so violent that you miss the point. 3)The game is unoriginal, too much crap like it's supposed to be scary. 4)Are far as sound goes, it's not scary and the game is accually in a sense silly because it's just immature game that well, has no point!

This games just not any good and it would be cool to see YOU buy a quality title such as Theme Park(if you find it) Parappa the Rapper and Um Jammer Lammy. Also, if you want a frightful strategy game, you might want Echo Night(maybe). Just don't be RE3! DONT BUY IT AT ALL BECAUSE RE3 ISNT LIKE THE OTHERS! Crash Bandicoot also!

Capcom has done it again

All I can say is wow! how Capcom keeps coming out with these amazing games is way beyond me. In most series the games keep getting progressivly worse, but this installment of Resident Evil is by far the best. When I am least expecting it that damn Nemesis keeps slaming through doors in a relentless pursuit of trying to kill me. For closing words all I'm going to say is WOW!

Not exactly

Although this game is a blast to play, and scary as hell (you never know when that nemesis thing will jump out at you), it simply doesn't have enough innovation to keep it alive.

Sure, the controls now are flawless, but it took Capcom 3 games before they incorporated a 180 degree turnaround move. It took them 3 games before you can walk up stairs without pressing the action button. The gun powder ammunition creation idea is mildly innovative, but too many times you end up with simple handgun bullets, and who wants to use those? The dodging technique is finally made possible, but almost impossible to pull of in hard mode.

But sometimes you dodge when you don't want to. Say there's about 6 zombies coming at you, and you try and blow their heads off. Too many times you'll instead push them back, leaving you open to get munched on by the undead.

The graphics retain themselves. They are exactly like every resident evil game, flat 2d backgrounds that you run around in. Sometimes there's a book or sparkling object to see, but most of the time there's nothing. A simple car that you could climb over instead blocks your way indefinately. Simple locks on doors you can't kick down or anything. One major thing, there are way too many doors. Much of the game is spent seeing doors open instead of blowing up mutated creatures. The least they could have done was lessen the loading time or something between rooms, because I hate doors, but most of the game is going through them.

The voice acting retains its cheap B-grade quality. Voices are too inflected; and who really waves their arms around and bobs their head at every little thing they say? I don't, do you?

Don't get me wrong, this game is by far the best Resident Evil game to date, but there just isn't enough spark or innovation to keep the series alive. Kind of a blast, but a disappointment at the same time.

UNLIKE MANY OTHER CRITICAL GAMERS , I FOUND THIS TO BE ONE OF THE BETTER ''RESIDENT EVIL '' GAMES ! DON'T GET ME WRONG - THE FIRST TWO ARE VERY GOOD , BUT THIS BLOWS THEM AWAY ! YOU GET WAY COOLER WEAPONS , YOU CAN MIX YOUR GUNPOWDER AMMO , AND FIGHT TONS OF AWESOME MONSTERS ! NOT TO MENTION '' NEMESIS '' ON YOUR TAIL ALL THROUGH THE GAME AS WELL .. EVEN THOUGH IT MAY SEEM A SHORTER GAME , AND NOT AN ACTUAL SEQUEL TO THE SECOND ONE ; IT STILL HAS ALL THE ELEMENTS YOU EXPECT FROM A '' RESIDENT EVIL '' GAME ..SO TURN OUT THE LIGHTS , TURN UP THE SOUND , AND PREPARE TO BE SCARED TO SHEER ENJOYMENT . AND A CLOSING WORD TO THE WISE , STEER CLEAR OF '' SURVIVOR '' !! IT IS HORRIBLE AND NOT WORTH THE MONEY ONE BIT ..AND PICK UP ''CODE VERONICA '' AS WELL . ANOTHER CLASSIC ONE IN THE SERIES ...

Ok, now i can see writing a very good review for "Resident Evil 2",
but I just had to write something on this. Yes, I am a huge Resident Evil fan but this one I could live without. The One I would reccomend first would be "Resident Evil" or if you don't have a gamecube or you can't find the PS1 version, get "Resident Evil 2"
I think that is still the best one to date. some may call me crazy but that is the one i will always like. So, bottom line don't buy this one some this this is a good game don't let them fool you, don't get this one for sure. Good Luck Finding and Thanks!

Love the fear of Survival? Get this game!

Resident Evil 3 is now one of my favorite games ever. The game always gives you the bare essentials to survive all the monsters and what not, but also makes your brain work with puzzles. Some new features on this game include an ammo CREATION system, where you put together types of gun powder for different ammo, a DODGE button, which you WILL need to defeat Nemesis. All and all, this is still the same old Resident Evil(thats a good thing!), meaning you can count on great scares, and close calls.

Great Game

Resident Evil 3 is a wounderful addition to the RE family of games. Allthough not a deep as RE. 2, it provides plenty of surprises, and adds some new information to the current story line running throughout the previous games. It is important to remember, however, that this is not a true sequal to Resident Evil 2, but more of a side story. If you want to play the real sequal, you must wait till Resident Evil: Code Veronica arrives for the Sega Dreamcast system this February. All in all a good game that all fans of the RE. series will enjoy.

Disappointing

What the Resi series of games does, it does well - OTT Hollywood-style scares and genetically-mutated things that go Bump In The Night. RE 3 is no different, providing more of the same for fans who love it. It also boasts one or two gameplay improvements, but somehow can't quite get back to the glory days of the first 2 games in the series.

The plot follows the heroine from the first game, Jill, 24 hours before and after the devastating outbreak of the T-Virus in RE 2. A novel concept, and one which Capcom surely intended to exploit fully. The inclusion of the Nemesis character, a Frankenstein-like monster who relentlessly pursues you from start to finish, is also a nice twist, adding much-neede dtension to the game whenever he makes an appearance. The menus and controls are also tweaked, most notably the inclusion of the 'Turn' and 'Dodge' features, which, if learned properly, add hugely to the gameplay.

Graphically RE 3 is as good as RE 2. It's as detailed, and lush as before. The intro is strangely disappointing, being lo-res and choppily animated - the PlayStation 1's power is being overused. The sound is good, though, and the gameplay is the best possible version of an imperfect control system.

The problems with RE 3 lie mainly in the game's production. It's nigh-on impossible to keep track of yourself for the first thirty minutes or so, and the map for this portion of the game is difficult to spot. The baddies are souped-up versions from the previous games and are actually too difficult to kill initially. You waste precious ammo and health packs before you realise that you can take multiple paths. Also, Nemesis, though an excellent inclusion, is again too intense for the early stages of the game, and more often than not you'll find yourself cursing Capcom while waiting for your game to reload after he's dispatched you. Again.

As the game continues, you realise that the baddies have an unfair advantage over you, and you will end up running past the majority of them. The satisfaction of knowing a Zombie is cornered just isn't there anymore. You also miss out on some beautiful backdrops and vitally important clues becuase you're too busy avoiding some ridiculously over-populated area.

A vast, sprawling game that does yield some rewards for die-hard fans, RE 3 is not a good way to introduce yourself to the series because of its unforgiving difficulty. The storyline may also confuse newcomers. If you're a fan who doesn't mind being confused and frustrated, then check it out. If not, wait for something better, like Code: Veronica, or anything in the Silent Hill series.
