Suikoden is the BEST RPG EVER!

I had read a preview for Suikoden 3 when the writer said, "If your going to play Suikoden 3, play the first two first." And so I did.
This was the best advise I had ever taken. It is such a fun game. I've played Final fantasy 7-10, but this beats all of them. No where does the game go bad. Collecting all 108 characters was just a blast and was well worth the time. The game was a little short, (20 hours), but it was just too good.
If you are an RPG fan, you have seen nothing if you havent played Suikoden yet.
Buy it and play it and trust me, you will not be sorry!

A game worth playing

After completing this game here are my thoughts: This game is one of the most entertaining games for playstation. It has a few problems. They don't matter unless you plan to get all of the 108 characters. The main problem is once you get to the point where you can beat the game you cannot get the master blacksmith, because you need to have a specific 4 characters when three of you characters you can't change. (you can have six characters). So the main problem is minor, so for the price that is offered here buy it, unless you hate RPGs

In all my 19 years of life there has never been a better RPG released since Final Fantasy II

A Good Game (and some random background)

It's been a while since I played this game, but I still remember it pretty well.

The basic story is that your character is the son of a powerful noble who sees the suffering of the people and becomes involved in a revolutionary movement. Not too uncommon, but well done.

For most of the game you wander around with 6 characters doing generic RPG stuff (killing villians, etc), but there are places where you must gather the massive forces of your revolutionary stronghold (cough... Liangshan Marsh, cough) to oppose the vast imperial forces.

The best part of the game that there are 108 characters you can put in your party, each with different animations and abbilites.

Now, for interesting background: this game is, loosely, based on the classical Chinese novel "Outlaws of the Marsh" by Luo Guanzhong and Shi Ni'an. If you've read the book, don't buy the game soley for that reason, but I do see certain similarities between the two.

Boring boring game!

I could not get into this game. With the exception of one track (the mountain theme) the music was horrible, and the fact that there were SO MANY characters, was just annoying because once you have more than a certain number, they can't be developed as full, 3-dimensional characters. This game was so worthless.

This game is one of my favorites (the other one is Suikoden 2 ^_^ ). I can spend hours upon hours at the Playstation/Playstation 2 starting at the screen, waiting for the chance when I can collect another character. Oh did I mention you get to build your own army? Yeah, you can collect 108 characters in all and you even get your own, spiffy castle. Some of the characters are very difficult to recruit and require multiple quests to join. I have beaten the game at least 3 tiems, but never with all 108 characters. This time around, I am using a strategy guide so that I will be able to see the best ending. There are different endings. You will even be able to carry your game into the sequel, if you buy it. I highly recommend this game, especially if you love RPG's (thats me!). I don't think it's too short or too long, its the perfect length for the perfect game! If you don't want to buy it, at least rent it ^_^

A Great Game for Old School RPG Fans

I absolutely Loved this game. I thought the storyline was extremely original and it went it a different direction then most RPG's. For it's time the graphics are very good and the plot is very developed and interesting. The fact that you get to have your own home base and go out and recruit people for your own army makes it in a class by itself. I loved going around and finding new recruits, and though it can take some time it was well worth it. The only downfall I can really think of is the fact you had So many characters to choose from to put into your party. Other then that, I think it's a solid game for RPG lovers.

A game of FF stature made by Konami!!!!!

I thought this game was great even though I don't own it I have taken it hostage...I don't think I'll give it back because it seems like he doesn't miss it but onto the important stuff. I love this game and all other RPGs. If you gave me an RPG I don't care which one I would play it constantly...Anyways I like the idea of having 6 people in your active party!!!!! It's a great idea because you arn't in trouble when one person in your party dies(this barely even happened to me except at certain parts). My FAVORITE part of the game is the battles against the other army it's great!!!!! I also love the idea of 108 people that will join your team(talk about a varied team in battle). I think this game could hold its own against FF7 or any FF before that (except maybe 6). I like the runes, the characters, and most of all the gameplay and storyline. Actually I like everything about this game. Oh and this was my first RPG for PSX but I still love to play it!!!

Best RPG
