An excellent story that appeals to the older gamer.

A very nice rpg. Beautiful hand-drawn art, the best music i have ever heard in a game, three modes of combat (two of which feature characters as sprites and backgrounds in 3-d), and an excellent story that appeals to the older gamer.

Suikoden does not have the graphical flash of the Final Fantasy games on Playstation, but it is still quite entertaining.

The quest is a little short, but it is quality all the way. And since you have 108 characters to find for your army, you'll play the game at least twice to get the good ending!

Too easy!

Don't bother with Suikoden! The fights were always easy to win. I never died once in battle even the first time around. Zelda I was much tougher than this game! If you need an ego boost, get this game. Otherwise, save your money!

D best game

Suikoden has war battles is easy to play and the best thing about it are the 108 characters. They are so many characters but you can only use 6 so most characters stay weak al through the game. Some characters come in Suikoden2. One thing i don t like about this game is that my favourite character Flik is thought to be dead

pretty exciting

this game was really fun and i highly recomend it for rpg begginers. the story line was pretty awesome and there was really nothing bad about this game. when you get to masters some of them take a really long time to beat if you dont have the right guys. you can get up to 108 guys which is really awesome but by the time you beat it you most likely wont have all of them. but over all it was an awesome game.

One of the greatest RPG's of all time.

the game.....so emotional....I can't believe Odessa and Gremio died...Windy!That evil b***h! Thank God Cammile and Sonya didn't die. The game is great. It shows that fate cannot be undone. What's gone is gone. Everything but hope.

This is one of the best...ever...

Excellent game, great story with 108 characters too collect,2D graphics suit the game perfectly giving it a very 'classic' feel(nostalgia sets in...).The musical score is one of the best in any PSX RPG i have ever played(and that's a lot) If u like RPG's you'll love this...

I've heard that I'm the only person in the world who feels this way, but this is my FAVORITE playstation game. Is there anyone else out there who thinks that? I liked it even better than Final Fantasy, which is my second favorite. It had everything I liked about Final Fantasy - the story, the character development, the battles, the little stories building between the different characters, that sense of progress - but it was easier to play, moved faster, and if anything, put me in more fun situations - like getting to gamble in a bar, getting to decide who will be on "teams" together, getting to build my own castle. I was always smiling while I played it, and OK, don't laugh ... literally wept when one of my "friends" in the game died. I was so sad when the game was over, all I wanted to do was buy part two. I've played part two now, and I like it. But there will always be something about this first one that I like best. I'm sort of jealous of people who have never played it, because they get to start from the beginning without knowing what's going to happen.

Couldn't be better !!

I want to give this game 108 stars, 5 is not enough. Suikoden has the greatest story-line ever.. If you don't have it, go get it !

Mediocre at best.

And that's being generous. I've never played a more lifeless, dull RPG. The dialogue comes off as if it was written by an emotionless elementary schooler. I understand the sequel is supposed to be much better, but... I'm afraid I've been scared off for good.
