The first Syphon Filter game provided challenging, addictive and fun gameplay. I really enjoyed the missions that involved stealth rather than run and gun type action. In stealth missions the tension is much more palpable than blowing away everything in sight while providing (relatively) more realistic gameplay. Well, that's why Syphon Filter2 gets 5 stars. A terrific combination of stealth and action, with a complicated yet interesting storyline, make this game a must addition to your Playstation library. This game was as good if not better than Medal of Honor. I can't wait for Syphon Filter 3.

Syphon Filter 2 is a great game!

Syphon Filter 2 is a great game! If you liked Syphon Filter 1 you will probably love the new Syphon Filter, but if you don't know the story of Syphon Filter 1 you may have a hard time understanding the plot and the different character. Fortunately this can be easily overlooked, because this is a truly great game.

THE FIRST ONE WAS NOTHING COMPARED TO THIS. IT IS ACTION PACKED, AND FULL OF ACTION. REAL FUN, AND ALOT MORE LEVELS. THE 2 PLAYER MODE ISN'T THAT FUN. ITS NOTHING LIKE BOND. THE GAME IS REALY REALISTIC. ITS REAL GORY, BUT NOT GORY ENOUGH TO GET A MATURE RATING. IT HAS MILD SWEARS, SUCH AS DAMN, BUT ONLY IN A COUPLE OF LEVELS. THE WEAPON SELECTION IS GREAT. MOST OF THE WEAPONS FROM THE LAST GAME, BUT THERE ARE SOME NEW ONES. SUCH AS THE CROSSBOW, THE H11, KNIFE, AND BINOCULARS. THE STORY LINE IS GREAT, BUTS ITS HARD TO UNDERSTAND. OVER ALL, ITS A GREAT GAME.

Better than the first

This game is very well made, the controls are easy to use, and the visuals are amazing. The people in the game almost seem to act real. Challenging levels and mazes make this game great for experianced gamers. A must buy for all serious gamers.

A decent sequel, but not as good as the original

Don't get me wrong, Syphon Filter 2 is a great game, but I expected more. The original is one of my favorite games, and this doesn't live up to it's potential. It has many tedious missions that were annoying. The level were you had couldn't kill the G.I.'s was awful. Overall, it was a good game, but the original was much better.

This was basicly an extension of the first Syphon Filter, which means it was a great action game. There were some minor changes in the feel of the game. You don't shoot as many people, although the body count is still pretty high, and the new weapons really look good. There is also a much better story line in this installation. The first one left you just kinda going along with everything. This one does a good job explaining the story. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed the first one, but if you have a friend that already has it, you may want to borrow it from them instead.

I love these two games! Syphon Filter 2 continues the great gameplay its predecessor set up while adding a few twists, such as playing as Lian, having help from other characters during missions (Teresa (a great addition), Chance, etc.), and the two-player mode.

If you like exciting, fast-paced games, you will not be disappointed by SF or SF2. I beat SF2 in less time than it took to beat the first one, but that's probably just because I'm farther up the learning curve of the games now. This one delivers challenge (enemies can now use snipers on you and take you out with a head shot!) and plenty of plot twists, right up until the very end.

The two-player mode is nice, though the screen should have been split horizontally instead of vertically (it's quite difficult to tell what is going on around you at times). Basically, the two-player mode feels like a neat mini-game if you happen to have someone sitting around. The levels you play on are not huge or incredibly interesting, and your only objective is to kill the other player.

One neat new feature the two-player mode adds, though, is having to look for secrets within the one-player game in order to unlock characters and levels.

This and the fast-pace of the game (though about half of the stages require you to stop and think your way through sticky situations -- it is rarely just running and shooting) will make you want to play it again even after you have beaten it (plus unlocking all of the secret movies by playing through hard mode).

If you own Syphon Filter, you have to buy the sequel! If the game interests you at all, you should definitely rent it (and then possibly by it!). It is one of my all-time favorite games!

Finally Syphon Filter 2.

Syphon Filter 2 is great! I loved the first one but the second outlives the first by a mile. Because the story is more invlolved, the weapons are better, the levels are better, and the costumes are better. Also you can play Lian Xing. The end has a great twist. Syphon Filter 2 is superb. I hope they make a Syphon Filter 3.

This game is by far the one of the best. The first game was a little better, but it is still one of the better games out there. The game play and story is better than Metal Gear Solid, though for some reason everyone seems to like long boring stories. The Japanese makers could not get the American culture right in MGS. What I like most about Syphon2 is that you get to play both agents, aiming is easy, and there is more sneaking around than the first. I love this game though I finished it in three days. I played the first for hours, though this may because I already played the first.

I think this game kicks ... You get to use a taser, a combat knife, and a shotgun and many more weapons. If you played the first syphon filter and liked it youl love this one. If you are playing this one first let me tell you how the story gose... there is this evil vierus[i don't know if I spelled that word right]that kills everyone. Just buy the game ok. but you might want to play the first one first.
