Good solid fighting game

This fighting game is a very good fighting game. the characters are some new and old. compared to tekken tag tournament this game is good but lacks a few things. the graphics are downright beutiful, and the fighting styles of the different characters was cool, but the only problem was that in tekken tag you could have teams and in tekken 4 you can't. Instead of more players there is a new added mode, tekken force. Tekken force is a brand new mode that has never been introduced to a fighting game. What it is basically is an old- fashioned beat-em-up, where you fight hordes of soldiers and last a difficult boss. overall this game deserves a good 5 stars.

A new country of fighting

THIS GAME IS AWESOME! IT HAS NEVER BEFORE ADDED FEATURES IN THE TEKKEN GAMES LIKE WALLS, BETTER GRAPHICS, AND WATER EFFECT. THIS GAME ALSO INCLUDES NEW MODES WICH ARE STORY MODE, TRAINING, AND THE NEW "TEKKEN FORCE". THIS GAME IS TAKING A GOOD IMPRESSION OF "DOA" AND "VF4". IN THE BEGINING TEKKEN WAS MADE ON THE PS ONE IT DIDN'T HAVE VERRY GOOD GRAPHICS AND KNOW WALLS IT WAS JUST A OPEN AREA. NOW IT ALL CHANGED. TEKKEN4 IS THE BEST GAME TO BE MADE ON THE PS2

Not the best but better than most

Tekken 4 may not be the most groundbreaking fighting game on the market (or the long running series for that matter), but it succeeds where most other fighting games fail. When all the fighters are finally unlocked, there is a nice selection of diverse fighters; each of whom move very fluidly and each fighting style is diverse enough yet simple to learn: one of the many qualities that has always been a staple of the Tekken series. As I said before, the graphics are very nice and the fighters well animated, and the 3-D backgrounds are nicely designed as well. The rendered animation sequences (another staple of the series) are nicely done as well for the most part, but they are too short and the voice acting that goes with it isn't anything to write home about. The newly designed Tekken Force mode is a step above Tekken 3's version, and is a blast to play. Tekken 4's only real flaw is that there is nothing here that is revolutionary or groundbreaking, and while that really isn't much of a flaw as a whole, it is something that is expected of the series for something new and great to come along. All in all, Namco has crafted another more than solid fighting game, and it is a worthy addition to any PS2 fighting fan's library.

THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!!!!

TEKKEN 4 is the BEST fighting game in the world of PS2 fighting games.I use YOSHIMITSU in Tekken Force but my favorite character to use in Survival mode or Arcade/time attack mode is BRIAN FURY.He has some fast punches but slow kicks unless you use the jump kicks or running kicks. The new levels are awesome especially the arena and parking garage because you can corner your opponents. The parking garage level is awesome because you can send your opponent through a stone pillar.I also like the jungle level becuz you are also in the water.I also play this game down at the arcade because it is only a block down from my house.I still like playing it on PS2 better than at the arcade unless you are playing against someone.I would recommend this game to anyone who has a PS2 or likes fighting games.

Might As Well Be Tekken...

The Tekken series has provided, for gaming fighters, the greatest 3-D fighter that I have played to date. The game features many (but not all) of the old characters, and several new, making for new story lines that interact with the old (example; Nina is assigned to hunt down Steve, and Lei is assigned to stop her). The game has it's highlights, such as the finest graphics engine the Tekken games can offer, the revamped Tekken Force Mode (which, I might add, has been difficult for me to beat), the new story lines, and the overall best fighting engine. The fights are very close to realistic (as a real fighter, I should know...) with nothing too incredibly out of the ordinary (exeption of Yoshimitsu). It has all the fighting action one could ask for from any fighting game. But Tekken 4 does have it's low areas. The soundtrack (although good) just did not fit the "I'm gonna crush yer head in" (that's Craig Marduk talking) mood. Several favorite characters of mine were absent from this new installment. The Tekken Force Mode allows some freedom, but not like in games such as The Bouncer. And the tag-mode was absent from this game, a feature that I have enjoyed in games such as Tekken Tag Tournement and Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore. Not to nention Training mode is a pain in the neck. But, if you want all of the fighting action you can get your hands on, simply grab for Tekken 4.

This is a 2d fighter that feels 3d because of the amazing enviornment interactions. A must have for any fighting fan. My only complaint is the absence of Tag battles. But it dosen't matter that much. It's the most advanced figher you can currently buy so go ahead and get it.

Tekken 4 can't top TTT, but it is a solid fighter and another sequel to my favorite fighting game series.

The few new characters add new moves to the series, and their involvment in the tournament branches new storylines.

Jin Kazama looks by far the coolest since his last appearance in TTT.

The fighting system introduced walls to the game, no more free roaming.

All in all, a very good game.

A Must Have for Tekken Fans!

Tekken 4 plays a bit faster and graphically a bit better than its predecessors. The fighting system has changed a bit with the use of the environments. Smash your opponent against the wall and and go all out.

It's a Great Fighting game.

If you're a Tekken Fan, just get the game.

Brilliant, But Still Room For Improvement

Tekken 4, The First 'Proper' Sequel on the ps2 after the dissapointment that was tage tournament.
Firstly, the graphics and finally a fully 3D background! The graphics are majestic, the detail is wonderful, and im even slightly attracted to christie!! ..., the 3D backgrounds look good but you cant interract with them enough, i was looking forward to flying heihachi through a concrete pillar with Paul Phoenix's One Punch KO move!! Sadly, u cant......

There isnt really enough characters for my liking, nothing near the amount on offer in TTTT, 16 playable characters i think.
Overall, Tekken 4 is the best on offer, The graphics help hugely, and the move list is as big as the wait that we had for the game itself! Buy it, its worth however many dollars it is, slightly confused as to why us in the UK got it before you Americans....
