Look, i'm 19 and in the navy. guitar hero was the only thing that me and my friends really got into, we would play for hours. now that i'm in japan i can't really have battles and all that with them anymore. but buying this game has really help me out, i love this game so much the music, the gameplay, the co-op modes, it's just a really good game.

Excellent game for Metal fans.

I have really enjoyed this game because it breaks away from the traditional console game by providing a new way to interact with the system using the guitar. If you enjoyed any of the Dance Dance Revolution games, you will probably enjoy this game as well.

The main down side in my opinion is that many of the songs are so darn long!
My wife complains that many of the songs are also obnoxious and repetitive, and I agree for the most part.
If you love Heavy Metal, though, you probably would have less of an issue with this. (I had never even heard most of the songs in the game; I'm not a Metal fan at all)

Rock On!

This game is great. When I play I really feel like I'm a rockstar. For those who aren't guitar players (like me) can easily learn how to play this game and can even get good at it. This game is a blast. I wish the song choice was a little better, but atleast some are good. Guitar Hero 2 is great to play with friends. My cousins and I spent all day playing this. This game is a PS2 must-have!!

If you like rock music and video games...

then this is a glorious combination of the two. This is probably the most fun I've ever had playing a video game - you'll spend hours unlocking all the stuff, perfecting all the riffs, solos, etc...

Awesome!!!

I just played this game for the first time over the holiday, and all I can say is WOW. I have seen this in the stores but never got the chance to play it... I also thought it looked stupid. Let me tell you, once you pick up the guitar and successfully play your first song, your not going to want to put this one down. This game is so good, I went out and got a PS2 just for this game. Multiplayer is a blast with this one. One person plays the guitar track and the other plays the bass (some songs can have a lead and rhythm guitar)

NO FALL OUT BOY!!!!!

Honestly, it's bands like them that are RUINING rock with their pop-crap. Anyway, if I had to pick 5 tracks to be on it, they would be:
1. "The Decline" by NOFX
2. "Night Prowler" by AC/DC
3. "Stairway to Heaven" by ZEPPLIN!!!!!!
4. "The Saints Are Coming" by Green Day and U2, and
5. "The Theme Song From THAT 70'S SHOW" by (no idea)

Now, I realize we can't have all those bands because either the rights are too expensive, or the band members are spread across the world, but let's focus on what we DO have, which is the BEST GAME OF 2006!!!(That's right, "GEARS OF WAR", I said it!) Now, alll in all, this is just a huge improvement over the first. It's just a MUCH bigger package. Another thing I have to slide in here, forgive me for my lack of modesty, but I am AMAZING at the guitar, but this is SO much harder(minus the bloody fingertips. Playing punk rock all day will do that to you, and a little AC/DC, whoo!) So, now let me tell you why this should beat GEARS OF WAR. Now, let's be sensible, we all know GEARS is gonna win, bu here are the two reasons why:
1. All the hype it recieved. I mean, I've been seeing commercials for AGES. Guitar Hero 2 is going to be the runner up, no doubt, and it got there with NO ads. HAHA, bite me, corporate America.

2. Everyone is focused on the 360, but really, the console wars haven't even started yet.

All in all, the very BEST of 2006, and the PERFECT Christmas gift(It's actuallly pretty cheap, if you get the bundle).

If you like karaoke and have some appreciation for instrumentation, you'll love this game.

Novelty wears off.

This game was fun for about 2 weeks after I bought it. But then the novelty wore off, I beat all the songs on moderate, and the learning curve was way too steep to have fun on hard. There's two reason to by this game. To play it occasionally with friends, it would be a big hit in a dorm or something, or to dedicate countless hours to mastering the most difficult songs. If, however, you're a casual gamer who's going to be playing this mostly by yourself, I do not recomend it. It just isn't worth the 75 bucks.

Awesome!!!

I'm not a big fan of video games but I'm adicted to this game.
It's the greatest game ever!
