A great game

Animal Crossing is a great game, but it is not for everyone. If you can enjoy the real time game play, because you have better things to do, then you shouldn't buy the game. The game play is definetly unique, but to really enjoy it, you have to be willing to explore the game and be patient. For those who do have time to play, you will enjoy the many perks of the game.

The Best Gamecube Game!!

Wow! I don't think there is a better game for gamecube than this. You can dig, shake trees for money, or play video games if you have any. Also, you can look for seashells, hunt for bugs, or just loaf around. Going fishing is an activity I enjoy. I also am very fond of wapping Huck the toad on the head with my net. (I'm suprised he hasn't moved yet!) The graphics are so-so, but the animation makes you feel like your in the game. Once you've played the game enough, the other citizens of the town will get to know you. My town is called Lienesch (my last name) and my name is Joey Jr. If you have a brother or sister, parent or friend living in your town, the other animals who dwell in your community will start talking about them. A horse named Peaches told me how much she misses Christina( my sister). Then she got mad at me and went to bed. She always sleeps outside, so that started to worry me a little bit. Overall, this game may be expensive, BUT BUY IT because it's worth the money. ANIMAL CROSSING ROCKS!

Animal Crossing Goes On And On

In this game, there are many adventures. It's like life with an easier twist. You still do things you would normally do in the real world, but it is easier, and you don't work as much. There are many things to do in this game, and many levels to conquer. I would suggest it to youth and teenagers, since they are animals, and you could stare at the tv for hours. It is one of the easiest games to play, since you don't need to think about much, even though this game teaches you a lot of things if you don't already know them. It can teach you bugs, fish, types of paper, historical objects and much much more with a lot of fun. In this game, you play as a person, have a house, talk to animals and at the same time be in your actually time and day. You could play for hours and hours of shopping, picking weeds, fishing, bug catching, doing jobs, cleaning, mailing, and so much more. Everyday is something new and on somedays special things happen. You even celebrate holidays on this wonderful game.

This game is awesome. Ever wanted to work for a racoon? Even if you haven't you have to in this game. ( Don't worry. You only have to do 8 chores for him.) I recommend this game to any age! From 1 to 1000! :)

This is a great game!

I got this game in the first week of October, and I read that this wasn't a game you could play for more than 2 hours at a time but when I got it I played it for 6 hours nonstop. Now I only play it for maybe 2 1/2 hours max. The only problems with the game are the weeds, the fact that the villagers move away when you're not there, and that the seasons don't start on the correct day. Over all the game is really good. Soon I'm getting the Nintendo Players Guide and the Animal Crossing E-Cards.

This is a must get game. I only wounder when Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life comes out. Gamecube is definitly the best system out.

Good clean fun that never runs out of gas

The game has an easily understood concept, yet has many available layers of complexity so that it is easy and enjoyable for the beginner and the expert alike.

The very first time you play it, there will be a lot of time to set up the background details, but you'll never have to do that again so don't sweat it. Besides which, it's well worth it because once you've done that, the game system, based on where you told it you live, makes the scenes in daylight or night darkness based on what time it is where you're playing. It shows different weather also, based on that setup information.

Only thing is that it's a single player game. I bought this for a seven year old and expected we could play simultaneously. Anyway, without changing any settings, you can play on as complex or simple a level as you wish. There are choices for you to make, and you can either wander around just having fun, or be very organized and follow the game structure precisely, or anywhere in between.

Once you've completed the setup, using the memory card to save it, every time you again play the game you start up right where you left off, with no repeat of the setup directions. When you're done playing, save the game to the memory card and you're all set.

I enjoyed playing the game. That's something I hadn't expected. But that made it a better game because my nephew and I enjoy it together.

Outstanding for Casual Gamers

This is an outstanding game for casual gamers. It is addictive. Experience gamers will probably also have a lot of fun until they master it. For the price, it really is a very good game. Fun for the whole family and you can work together a little bit. It isn't just for children. There is a reason it got so many good reviews. Has lots of open gameplay (all open actually), based on real time (I set my gamecube clock back permanently so the store in the town isn't closed when I get home from work.).

Fun for family & friends

Animal crossing is a great game with game play similar to the Sims. The fairly simple premises of having a character live play interact with others, furnish a home and make the town a nice place to live. The game is highly event related with events happening at certain times during the day and night there are even events related to the date and day. For example in December it snows, at 10pm the store closes, on Saturdays KK arrives to play tunes outside the train station. It's a very fun game to play with lots of room to customize your character and there home. Another cool aspect of the game is you can interact with some of the items you find. For example if you find a NES you can actually play NES games. The game comes with a free 59-block memory card to save your town onto. The saved town just about fills the card. You can visit other towns by inserting a memory card containing the new town data into slot B. (its good fun to visit your friends towns ;0) you can easily get hooked on this real time game. There are a lot of things for you and your character to do among them you can go for moon light walks on the beach, visit the museum or just spend the day bass fishing. Buy the game its rated E for everyone and everyone will enjoy playing this game over and over and over.

Great game, but in the end rather disappointing for several reasons:

- You remain an outsider, the animals will not visit you, they only react when you visit them and talk to them..
(I thought it was great to make an announcement on the message board: "Because it's cold outside I invite everyone for hot chocolate at my place. Be there at 11.00") Ofcourse they didn't come to visit me.

- Writing letters is frustrating, they do not understand the simplest words you write.
"Hi Penny,

I think you are great.
Here's a little present"

I got a letter back:
"Hey! Seriously, don't send me weird letters, OK?
I mean, what in the world were you talking about?
And what's with all those big words professor?
You lost me!

Good-BYE! Penny"

I tried every thing: writing letters with few words, using the same "slang" they use, writing only "Hi"...they never understand a word...in the end I got so fed up that I wrote a very dirty letter (which I will not repeat) to Penny and she responded with:

"Hello ...
Thanks for writing.
I found this when I was out on a little stroll and thought of you.
Here you go!
Keep in touch"

She had send me a tall cactus! (I'm not making this up!)

- The reactions are limited, when you play the game for a month of three you have heard most replies.

- It becomes repetitive after a while, fixing jobs for your neighbors, fishing, collecting insects and fossils and decorating your room.

Having said that, the game is a must-have nonetheless, because all those shortcomings are in a way created by my own expectations. The game...the world you visit is so believable and charming that you think you can do everything...I forgot that it was a game with limited artificial intelligence, hardly the fault of the game...however...if only they didn't make it so cute and charming I wouldn't have expected as much as I did now.
