the game is as they say highly addictive and very easy to learn but most importantly it lives up to its hype of all the cool graphics and hot beats

Lumines, a PSP launch game, is quite the entertaining piece of software. Combining graphics with music, the player is treated to a harmonious experience that makes Lumines such a unique game.

The game, even though a launch title, doesn't show much age. The graphics are quite simple like most puzzlers, but has a nice glossy coat on top to make it stand out compared to a game like Tetris. The music matches the flashy graphics, with songs that range from pop, techno, dance and more. There are many levels, and every level has its own music track and matching graphics, and there are many to unlock!

There are also many modes of play: single player, two-player (Ad-hoc), puzzle, etc. Puzzle Mode, while initially fun, gets a bit tedious down the line. For example, you are made to make blocks in the shape of a dog, but later on you will be asked to make two dogs, which doesn't really provide the player with a fresh experience, but playing just to get it over with.

- Puzzle Mode can get tedious

Overall, this is a very good game, and if you love puzzle games like Tetris and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, you'll love Lumines!

Tetris who? That's what I said when I played this game. Too many people love Tetris, and I say that the people who call this a Tetris clone are stupid _________. This is absolutly no Tetris clone in any _______ way. Just because it has blocks dosen't mean it's a Tetris clone. That's complete bull_____. I would take this over Tetris anyday. It's more fast and fun that Tetris every wished it could be.

Forget about Tetris, this game owns the _____ out of that game anyday. The only Tetris that could ever compete with this is Tetris Attack. ANd that one will kick the ____ out of the first one. ALso check out Meteos if you have a DS.

If you have a PSP, what the _____ are you doing here? Get this game now.

(PS I like Tetris, I just think this game is about a million times better).

Lumines is just about the most perfect portable game ever created. It is totally fun, easy to pick up and play, and has great music!! What more could you want for a handheld gaming system?!?

My only gripe with the game is, that the only way to get more skins and music, is to play through the ENTIRE game, from first skin to last!! And that takes a lot of time, skill and patience..... other than that, this game is the bomb!!

I received a PSP as a gift one holiday season. I have purchased several games and I love this one the best. Solid game play, easy controls and some decent music. It isn't green day or T.I. but it is more than suitable for a video game.

When the psp had first come out and everyone was praising Lumines, I wondered how good could this puzzle game really be but after recently buying it, I now totally understand. This is one of those games that completely sucks you in. You will most likely rarely play your other psp games as often because of how addicting Lumines is. After getting a game over you will probably want to keep playing again and again to get a higher score or to unlock new skins. Well, this is easily the killer app for the psp and if you don't already own it, I highly recommend that you go get this one immediately.

The game play is very addictive right from the start. The only part that could use some work is the soundtrack, but it is just a minor problem, that aside Lumines could be called a religous experiance for gaming.

I do prefer Tetris over this game, but it is fun and somewhat addictive. There are several different modes that you can play which helps. After playing the normal style of play, you get highscores that take an hour to beat and that gets a bit old. That's when I had to start trying the other timed challenges so that I wouldn't have to play 60 minutes to feel like I might get into the high score list again.

It's a game that you can take anywhere to play. Play one game and put it down..which is nice as you don't have to remember where you were and what you were doing to pick it right up again.

Overall, a fun game and worth a discounted price.

Lumines is a great puzzle game, that is similar to tetris, but a whole new beast in its own way. Basically if you like tetris you'll love lumines. The pace of the game picks up quickly just like the music. Throughout the game you will be playing to different beats (music) and skins (backgrounds). The game evolves into a fast paced race to match similar cubes into square patterns, before you run out of space. That is pretty much it. Its kind of hard to explain how Lumines works, you get a square that contains 4 smaller squares, each level only consists of 2 colors for example red and white. Basically you need to match the colors into square or rectangle patterns. It seems easy but will quickly prove otherwise. I have a good 30 hours invested in the game and I still havent beat it. Overall it is a fun puzzle game that is great for killing time.
