Hunter the Reckoning hasnt gotten much hype but i played this game today and it is awesome. This game is up there with the greats such as Halo and Max Payne. For anyone who owns an xbox , you have to get this game. The storyline is great. The graphics are unbelievable and there is so much to do in the game. Believe me... once you have started playing this game you wont be able to put it down until you have beaten it.

not just a hack-n-slash? right. personally i'd say this is just a hack-n-slash, but a hack-n-slash well worth your money. anyways, what could be better than killing some zombies with 1 to 3 other friends? well of course there is better things, but in the realm of multiplayer there isn't many. i suggest you get this because i know when you're done playing you and your friends will be saying, "Whoa! That was awesome! Did you see when I...," etc., etc., etc. And if you're playing alone you'll be saying, "I can't wait to play tommorrow!" just get it.
there are four characters. two females, both of course with guns and a lot of fancy moves. two males, my favorite one being the preacher (the guy with the long hair and brown trenchcoat. the one on the front of the cover) because he's got a sword, a crossbow, and magical powers. the other guy is a biker with an axe.

reason alone to take advantage of the price-slashed XBOX

This game alone is reason to buy an Xbox. I preordered from the Interplay Web site and rec'd a free DVD of Night of the Living Dead. I specifically bought a lawn chair and a 30-pack of beer and left work early to play it once it arrived and all I can say is: This game does to video games what Romero's dead trilogy did to movies, therefore it is appropriate that the special edition DVD was included free. This one is a buy, buy, buy.

The first truly great XBox game

This is the best purchase you can make for the XBox yet. It's better than Halo, better than Max Payne, this thing is it. It came out yesterday and I couldn't wait so I ran out and bought it. It fulfilled every expectation I had for it. I have never seen so many enemies on a screen at one time with such good graphics. Finally, a really, really good reason to own an XBox.

Multi-player Bloodbath for the Mature

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 2 / 4

I like choices. I like the idea that mature-rated games are available and mature players can enjoy them without another senator or congressman making it a political issue. I say ban firearms if you want to stop violence, but don't ban violant games and make mature gamers suffer. OK, with that out of the way, Hunter IS a gory bloodbath mayhem. There are blood and amputated limps everywhere, and the bloodstains stay. You have plenty of ways to dice up, blow up and hack up any undead that gets in your way. It is violent, repetitive, yet addictive and most importantly fun.

Graphics 8.0
Don't expect an eye-candy galore. The graphics are nice and adequate, but nothing new or mind-blowing. There are a couple of Next-Generation XBox titles out there that make it tough for others to match. Player models and the monsters are nicely done; some are better than the others. One obvious thing people will notice is the texture and bit mapping that XBox can achieve easily. Some monsters show slick, bloody, and slimy endodermis that reflected very well on Xbox, so as some character's shinny leather.

Sound 8.0
Sound is OK too. People with Dolby Surround setup can enjoy the nice feature that comes with this game. When playing a hack-n-slash game like, you want to listen to the loading and bursting of firearms, explosions of surroundings, and the groan and roar of the monsters, and Hunter does a good job in that.

Gameplay 8.5
At first, you will just hack-n-slash away mindlessly, just to witness your power of mass destruction. Not long into the game, you will appreciate that you CAN actually devise some strategy to dispatch the undead. If you want to finish the game, you HAVE to strategize. The choice of 4 character types is very good. One is good at melee-attack, one is good at speed, one is pretty balance, with a slight incline to Edge(magic power), and one is an all-round who is good at range-attack(the Defender, my personal favorite). There is nothing complex, sophisticated, or innovative about Hunter's gameplay. It is just simply good old bloody hack and slash funfest.

Value 8.5
Few Edges (magic power), a handful of special weapons (chainsaw, machine gun), and the 4 character types you can pick from, Hunter is a fun game to play through the first time, and still enjoyable to play through again.

Overall 8.75
I just can't figure out why, but Hunter is one simple but fun game to play. I STRONGLY recommend getting at least a co-player, it will just increase the fun a few fold. Nothing spectacular if you take every element apart; yet when all the above-average quality elements are put together, Hunter is just a classic gaming experience you should not miss. I am more inclined to give it a rent for those who only want to own Classics; BUT (the big but) if you want a great multi-player hack-n-slash in your Xbox library, Hunter will not disappoint and it is well worth the money.

Best X-Box game since Halo

This game is incredible and so much fun. Get some of your buddies and play a game that puts Gauntlet to complete shame. The moves are sweet and there's actually strategy despite the fact it's a beat-em up kind of game. In any case this game is AMAZING and incredibly addicting. Seriously, the best game for X-box since Halo.

Must Have

This is definitely the best multi-player game for x-box. Each w/ its unique characteristic, so the game is never the same. Furthermore, the story is so engrossing and witty that makes you unable to stop until the very end. What's so funny that a killer teddy bear. The reason I didn't give it five stars is because you cannot manipulate the camera angle to see where the enemy is. But all in all, grab a friend and start playing.

Lots of multiplayer fun!

I had been counting the days until this game was released. It looked very cool from all the previews and the final product does not disappoint! The graphics are great and the 5.1 sound is very active. It is a lot like Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, but with better graphics, sound, and storyline.

The visuals in this game are fantastically detailed. You can chop off zombie heads, arms, torsos, and legs...all with the requisite blood splatter. The 5.1 sound is very good in letting you know where the monsters are coming from. The multiplayer option allows up to four people to play together at the same time without splitting the screen. All in all, I have yet to find a fault with this game.

this game is flat out FUN!! i wouldnt go as far as to say its better then halo but its the best game on xbox since halo. yes its a hard game but the multiplayer is fun if your friends know how to play. the only problem with the game is the camera is in difficult angles sometimes but it doesnt ruin it. tons of weapons and firepower, and there are over 30 different types of enemies like mutant sewer rats and peices of meat to giant teddy bears and gargoyles. you will love this game, i garuntee it, its the Resident Evil of xbox in a different form. instead of peeing your pants scared its laugh out loud fun!

no fun at all

we all play halo for hours on end at work and i was looking for another 4 player game and this seemed like the a great choice based on all the reviews i read. so the four of sit down and try playing for about 15 minutes, decide the game is simple, boring and you just pull the triggers alot and kill numerous zombies, it takes no skill. we turned it off and started playing halo again.
