A great game, even though you need to a lot of patience, but I guess that's what makes it great, couse even though you thought you've been to a place you can't expect the same things when you get back there. This game can really make you jump with fright, especially when you are really concentrating. Those zombies jumping up from nowhere.Wow.Don't play it when your'e alone, you'll scare yourself.Graphics is absolutely great.Blowing those zombies to bits is also really cool.Sounds are very realistic and sometimes really scary. You'll love this game no matter what. It's like starring in a great action movie(well except your'e a girl if your'e actually a guy,but a girl that can really kick butt and stand her ground). All I can say is.Coooooool.

The Best Resident Evil game?

I have been playing the series of RE for about 2 years now,and when I heard there was going to be a third game,I literally jumped out of my shoes.I had read many articles about it and I could not wait for it to be released. I finally got to play it.I was amazed by all the new options.Especially the re-loading tool. The main thing I like about this game was that it tells more of what happened to the city. There was also a spectacular ending. If you have the means,I highly recommend purchasing this title.Especially if you are as big of a fan of the Resident Evil series as I am.Trust me-YOU WON't REGRET IT!

ok, poeple, go buy this game now, but before you do, get lotsof extra underwear because u may need some extra because of the startling zombies and the unstoppable Nemesis, this game has some great graphics, capcom really took the psx to its limits, the game still has the prerendered backround (which will be fixed in resident evil: code veronica for DC) but u get used it and its not that bad, you got some nice moves, and cool aresenal of guns which are VERY hard to find at times, a cool parter with a seducing voice (ok he said it in the game and i just wanted to say that), the game overall is the most intense and scary of the RE series but the only thing wrong with it is the plot, the plot although twisting an turning, isnt as good as RE2 or RE, its more of something that would happen but u dont really know (or care) about, than a sequel, (prequel? there all the same)but still, it is a must for the 'adult' gamer.

Best Resident Evil yet?

Awesome gameplay, new and old weapons, new "dodge" feature, faster load times, quicker transitions through doors and stairs, faster zombies, countless scares, hidden "mercinaries" mode, challenging puzzles, cleaner FMV, choose your own path, GREAT ending,...what more can I say? If you buy it, you definitely will NOT regret it.

Resident Evil 3 / The Best

This has to be one of the best of the Resident Evils. The gameplay has many extended features that previously were not available. Some examples are the interactive decisions, ammo mixing, and 180 degree turns. These help you greatly in the game, but you'll need it to beat the many new types of zombies and especially the NEMESIS! The backgrounds are very good with more detail than ever, and it's good to see that Jill is the leen mean zombie killing machine. I recomend this game to every RE fan out there. Scary and fun what more can you ask for? Simply the best.

Can't get much better than THIS!

Lets start off by saying this may as well be the best Survival Horror and RE of all time. Mind-boggling puzzles, the all-new Nemesis (whos is known to pop out everywhere and try to decimate you)a whole box of flesh-eating zombies, and a "make your own" ammunition part! This game was SCARY AS HELL is some parts. Example: Do you like to have Nemesis pop out from the wall to your right with an Infinite Rocket Launcher and A low droned "S.T.A.R.S...." when you least expect it? I know i do! The great CG sequences make the game even more fun to play! (especailly at night!) I hope you make the right choice and BUY THIS GAME!

Seems like I have played this before?

I am really into the Resident Evil games but this latest installment is lacking. Here's why, the plot is very poor compared to RE2 and it left wanting more (I want to know more about THE NEMESIS). I think who ever wrote this could have done a better job (I could anyway), also something i thought was strange was Jill (she had a major makeover, a voice change, and some silicon if you know what I mean), the game is way to shore when compared to RE2, and it seems like I basically played this before there isn't mucj difference between this and the others besides a bad guy is after you. The good things about the game is the graphics with the backgrounds looking so crisp and a lot more interactive. It is also probably the most intense of the series because of NEMESIS which will jump out at you from just about everywhere and he can run as fast as you and can go through walls and doors which dosn't make it muh easier. And the controls have improved a lot with the 180 degree turn around help when there are a lot of enemies on screen. The FMV also looks a little better than RE2 (that means it's great) So if you are a die hard fan of the RE series buy this I guess but if your not this is worth a rental but I rather wait for CODE:VERONICA

Good, not a huge step away from RE2 though

After having pretty bad luck with trilogies (see Twisted Metal 3), I was somewhat wary about renting Resident Evil 3. I mean, how could they top a classic like Resident Evil 2? And that's where RE3 is hurt - it's overshadowed by it's perfect predecessor and to do anything but copy it would be less than perfection. Given all this, Resident Evil 3 is still a fun and very scary game. The "fork-in-the-road" choices you have to make are fun and give the game tons of longevity, as what choices you make change the course of the game. The puzzles can be frustrating and drawn out. Resident Evil 3 is basically Resident Evil 2 with none of the bad points, but missing some of the good points. The infinate ink cartridge is definately welcome in my book. Nemesis is an incredibly scary character. The thing that I was disappointed in was the lack of actual story or any real characterization. There was nothing really added to the storyline that we didn't already know. It was basically just solving puzzles, fighting Nemesis 10,000 times and the big ending. Given all this, Resident Evil 3 is still a fun game that will keep you on the edge of your seat and playing well into the morning hours. Oh yeah, and the bonus game is pretty fun!

Not, bad not bad at all

resident evil 2 was the best game i ever played. i didn't play it until it came to the pc. with better graphics than the ps version i never thought it could be surpassed. well i was proved wrong with nemesis. the controll is excellent, the side step and push are good additions. the graphics, although not up to par to a pc are still very good, the characters movments are much more fluid than the previous incarnations. with the same ambient music and sound affect to set the mood, this game truely is one of the best avaiable for the play station. the only thing that detracts from the game is the fact its too short. i beat it in a few hours with out a walkthrough can you imagine? cant wait for this to get ported to pc, come on capcom get a move on!!!

A Scary and Explosive Thrillride That Just Never Stops!

This game is extream fun and entertainment, let alone being an awesome game itself. I felt once again like I was taking part in an adrenaline pumping movie once again, only this time, with more killing than ever before. To write this review, I will split the game into three sections: what was good, what was bad, and what made me really love this game.

Now I will list the goodies. Well, to start off, just look at it; if you notice, the graphics are crisp and insanely detailed. If that weren't good enough, the cinematics are also incredibly intense and clear, and they tell the story rather well. What's good about the cinematics however is that they are very well directed and carry the mood perfectly. The mood of this game is magnificant, it's like a blend of fear, anger and depression all at once. The music supports these emotions, which is esspecially good when they focus on a single emotion. Also, the sound is great, another advancement over the sounds of the previous entry. I loved the voice acting and the new clicking sounds to the guns, as opposed to the old popping sounds of gunplay. The gameplay is almost perfect as now you can auto-aim at the zombies, but not make it super-fake looking like it was in the original.

The plot though, like RE2, is the backbone of the game. The characters in this game are well done and all play roles in the story. The story constantly increases the intensity as you are pitched up against bigger and badder dudes, esspecially Nemesis. The opening was awesome, and this game has one of the most emotional endings I have seen for the PSX (not quite Final Fantasy level).

However, there are setbacks to this awesome game, as I will now mention. I will have to state that the storyline wasn't as gripping as in RE2, nor as complicated with multiple scenarios. The cinematics, while the finest I have ever seen, are very short in length, so their overall effect isn't as high as I could have hoped. Also, after beating the game so many times, this game is now to me very easy for I know Nemesis' weaknesses, and can easily exploit them (email me for free tips). Also, the music isn't for the most part as good or scary or sad as in RE2. However, some of the tunes at the very end are absolutely astounding and alone are worth purchasing the soundtrack (well, I did just for those three tracks).

Now, I will tell you my favorite aspect of this game, my reason for giving it a five star rating without any hesitation. The reason is that it satisfies my male cravings to kill and win. Nemesis follows you around so much that instead of getting annoyed, you get .... He constantly lowers your overall ammo amount and forces you to use up healing items. As you fight him, you lust nothing more than to give Nemesis as much pain as you can give to him; you want him to die a horrible death. In all the times you fight him, he passes out when you win, and that's the end. Then, the second to last time you fight him, you can use acid faucets to melt parts of him away. You can take off his arms, and even his head. And the last time you fight him, you set up the puzzle, and while you wait, you can unleash whatever firepower you want on him; there's no passing out and allowing your escape, the last battle is a battle of REVENGE! I loved that, and I think any player who likes thrilling and fun games would love this game too.
