Although the game isn't much realistic, it's a great job from Namco. In my opinion it's the best AC series game. The plot is involving, and the music is awesome (specially the last, Agnus Dei is a classic, and will please everyone those who knows the history of this song).

Just adding my 2 cents' worth here. If you're new to the series or haven't played this before, by all means get yourself a copy and play it. You may wish to purchase it as it is fun to play again. The graphics are quite good, even when compared to Ace Combat 6. The story itself I thought was fun and I appreciated that the "enemy" was portrayed (at least one or some of them) as being honorable soldiers, even in their treatment of civilians working against them. The game has the right combination of length of mission, variety, fun, finishability (is there such a word?) and just enough frustration to keep it from being too easy. If you are brand-new, just starting the AC series, I would say to skip Air Combat (think of it as Ace Combat 1) and Ace Combat 3. Try AC-2 first. Of course, you won't go wrong by starting with AC-4. You will have more appreciation for the improvement in the game, though.

Last board on AC4

I like the gave. but I always get stuck on the last board. I can't figure out how to destroy the first lane on the Megalith. I keep shooting it doesn't explode and then I can't find the next corridor if I don't explode something.

Any in Delaware that can give me advice?

I have this game and have been playing it for years - since it came out, practically. I have beat the game on ace and have seen all there is to see - but I can't stop playing it. It has a vs. mode which is fun to play with the guys. It is one of my favorite games of all time, no doubt. I just ordered Ace Combat 5, as I have heard the graphics are much better. AC4's graphics are pretty good for it's day, but they are loosing their touch with current advancements in game definition and clarity. I would love to see them make an HD version for PS3 if they haven't yet. Long story short - its a good buy, but more recent and up to date games are available for a similar price...

This game is so much fun! I highly recommend it. It doesn't take too long to complete. It only took me about 2 weekends off and on to finish. Unlocking the different planes and color schemes is way cool. But be sure to pick the right plane for the right mission. I remember trying some missions and they were tough until I picked the right plane with the right weapons. I recommend getting an online walkthrough in order to purchase the best planes for each mission in the first run through. You can always buy the other planes later. So if you enjoy flying games and war games, then you will love this because you get both in one. Have fun!

Ace Combat 4 is a solid combat flight game, even if it is somewhat unrealistic. The physics seem good and the missions get progressively harder at a good rate. If you like flight sims, get this game.

This game rocks! The later events get harder. I have not bought any other ace combat game. And this game has a good sound track too. There are a variety of planes even the steath fighter! I love the air force and I love airplanes. You shoud buy this ga,me it is not a waste of money or time.

The best flight sim on the PS2, even better than AC5.

It really is nice that they have designated AC4 as part of the PS2s Greatest Hits collection, because it is. I like to assemble my own greatest hits for my various consoles and AC4 was hands down my choice as the best flight sim for the PS2. One of my main criteria for a great game is replay value and AC4 offers endless replay value. Flawless production that makes AC4 a must have for YOUR Greatest Hits collection.
