This game is really good. It has a foggy atmosphere, great graphics, and great gameplay, but its just too short. It took me 9 hours and 6 minutes to complete it. Thats it. I spent a lot of money on this game to only play it for 9 hours and 6 minutes. I reccommend renting it and beat it. Don't buy it. Unless you think you would want to play this over and over again.

Silent hill looks like a cool game. I like these kind of games.

this game is awesome if you like horror games,although it is a bit bloody,actually it has a lot of gore it is an awesome game the graphics are great and the gameplay is perfect.You may think it is boaring at the very beggining but just keep playing,it gets addicting
If refined, would make a great movie- not a game though.

Silent Hill- the first one, is probably one of the coolest games I have ever played. Not just because of the gameplay or the original premise, but because it scared me. When I got the second one, I was completely expecting the same scare fest...and more. *sigh* , I was wrong. The second Silent Hill is infinitely more haunting in terms of the atmosphere, maybe even chilling. Not scary though. However, there are perks. The storyline is extremely well done for one thing. If it was tweaked and stuff, this actually would have made a really cool movie...at least in my opinion. It just...it wasn't a GAME though. The backgrounds were incredible as were the graphics but I just didn't feel as attached to the characters as I did in the first one. The second one just wasn't as well done.
Tell you what, I'll write a screenplay and send this to David Fincher or Sam Raimi, and they can make it into a movie, then you can go see something better and eat popcorn for ten bucks and not waste forty on this. If you want genuine gameplay, then get the first one. You'll wet your pants.

A very good looking game with good backround music and sounds. Playing the game however means runnung all over, and not really getting any ware. The puzzels are complicated, and keep you from really enjoying the game. Rent it before you buy it.

to me its was a great game and youll love it take it from me i own all four of them i beat the first 3 i havent beaten silent hill 4 if you own ps2 or xbox pick up these games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this game would have made a very interesting movie , as a game it can get boring, so i had to play it like two hours at at time
then rest the story made me curious i just had to play this for myself.
It's a the kind of when you just want to open and close door fecth this fetch that and solve some aimless riddles this the game for you!!!!!!!!!!! did i mention the controls????????????? it's like trying to steer a lawn mower with a axe handle!!!!!!!! but if you want more i don't think this will satistfy your gaming needs i still love konami and this isn't so baaaaaad.
i think it will have it's fans i am just not one of them laterzzzzzz........

I THINK THIS GAME ROCKS BECAUSE THE STORYLINE IN THIS GAME IS VERY DETAILED,INSANE, AND VERY INTERESTING. WHAT MAKES THIS GAME SO SCARY IS THE FOGGY ENVIROMENT AND OF COURSE PYRAMID HEAD, HE'S THE ONE THE MAKES THE MAKES THE GAME VERY CREEPY, BECAUSE HE FOLLOWS JAMES(THE PROTAGONIST OF THE GAME)EVERYWHERE HE GOES AND POPS OUT OF NOWHERE IN THE GAME UNTIL THE END. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS THE BEST HORROR GAME EVER MADE I SERIOUSLY DON'T RECOMEND THIS GAME FOR PERSONS WHO LOST THEIR LOVED ONES, FOR EXAMPLE WIFE, GIRLFRIEND, FATHER, MOTHER, ETC, ETC. BECAUSE THE STORYLINE OF THIS GAME MAINLY FOCUSES JAMES SUNDERLAND'S DEAD WIFE MARY, AND IF PEOPLE START TO PLAY THIS GAME THEY WILL BRING BACK PAINFUL AND TEARFUL MEMORIES OF THEIR DEAD LOVED ONES AND IT WILL HAVE AN EFFECT ON THEM.
