This is going to be the scariest game ever!!

When I played the original Silent Hill, I thought it was one of the greatest games I had ever played. It had good graphics, good music, interesting puzzles, a awesome storyline, and THE creepiest atomsphere in a game. I left the lights on as I played, and still thought about it for months afterwards.

With the sequel, everything looks to be ten times better. Phenomonal graphics that will blow you away, a new storyline that looks to be just as deep as the first, and a new helping of puzzles. The brand new enemies look absolutely horrifying. I swear, as soon as you see the creatures (which look like torsos and limbs haphadardly sewn together) skitter across the ground like a spider, you will jump. I know I did.

Even better, it fixes the two downfalls of the first. 1. No more "Resident Evil" controls and; 2. We can finaly find out what's the deal with this town and why it is they way it is.

I can't wait for this game. I know i'll get it the day it comes out. Until then, excuse me. I'm going to go find more info about it.

Silent Hill is perfect for those gamers who are looking to find a great scare, but don't want to get caught up into the Resident Evil series, which are fun don't get me wrong, but i found Silent Hill to be much more enjoyable.

Silent Hill tests your nerves by thrusting you into a creepy town devoured by dense fog, and as you'll soon find out, total darkness with only a pocket flashlight lighting your way.

Silent Hill 2 looks to break the boundries set by the first game and take your nerves to the breaking point. With screen shots i've seen, grotesque monsters, realistic fog and a richer storyline makes me think this game should come out on Halloween, but i dont want to wait that long!

If you want to play this game, you might want to check out the first SH because some questions left unanswered in the first game will, hopefully be answered in Silent Hill 2.

Silent Hill~Konami~ is a great and terribly scary game. Silent Hill is about Harry Mason and his daughter Cheryl who decides to go to their favorite vacationing spot-Silent Hill! Due to car trouble they leave late at night. But as they soon enter Silent Hill a ghostly image appears and forces Harry to crash and get knocked out. Harry wakes up and realizes that his daughter is missing. He gets out of the car and notices that is early in the morning and it's snowing in the summer! He ventures into Silent Hill to find his missing daughter. Yet! He does not know what will wait for him soon...

This time in Silent Hill 2~Konami still~ Totally different characters are introduced. James Sunderland, a young man who's wife died. But years later a letter is recieved and it is his dead wife who asks him to come to Silent Hill to greet her. James decides to do so and also ventures into Silent Hill. Before he enters he meets a young lady and she seems scared of Silent Hill talking about how bazaar it is. James just ignores her opinions and walks away. But he should've listened. He will be greeted by things more horrible than his dead wife. You will soon find out in this sequel of Silent Hill...

Silent Hill 2 will be mysterious and of course frightening. Can't wait till it comes out!

this game ... big time! i wasted my money on this one. the graphics were ... and it didn't come close to scaring my little sister let alone me. the story line was very weak and i had the game beat in about a week. they went a little crazy with that fog too. what in the world were they thinking?! if you want a great game that will keep your attention i would like to tell you to please, please go for the new resident evil game. now there's a game! i couldn't put that one down. SH2 was so weak i think i forgot i owned it. you know, just threw it in the back of my T.V. stand. SH2 is lucky i am giving it 2 stars, lets just leave it at that.

"Silent Hill" was the first game I purchased for my PlayStation. I stood in the store for hours trying to decide which game to buy. That choice changed my life. (I've never been scared of a video game before.) It was pure terror...sometimes I woke up in a cold sweat after being chased by little knife-wielding demons in my sleep...and I loved every second of it. Now, after taking a second "vacation" to Silent Hill, I can say that I wasn't disappointed. The graphics are stunning. The expressions on the characters were what impressed me the most...lip biting, brow furrowing, and that snotty look you get from 8 year olds were perfectly captured in the game. The voice acting was also excellent...actually, it was too good...far better than I expected. The use of S-FORCE 3D sound was great, even on my crappy speakers. The characters are, by far, the most frightening element in the game. Those are some strange people. They're suicidal, homicidal, bratty, or sluttish, and even our dear protagonist James has some skeletons in his closet. Also, to help your parasympathetic nervous system kick in, Konami has thrown in a few humorous moments...(kill some enemies with the chainsaw, stand over one of them for a minute, and watch what happens!) With five endings, four action difficulty levels, and four riddle levels, SH2 has an impressive replay value. The music is PERFECT. Tension filled when enemies are around and intensely sorrowful in certain situations. I think that the game is a classic and, thus far, has not received the praise that it disturbs...um, deserves. Bedtime is once again a joyous occasion because I know my dreams will be filled with squirming bags of flesh, thick fog, dilapidated buildings, and that big butcher guy with the huge knife and the freaky head. Finally, I've got some new material for my nightmares.

Why do people review games that aren't out yet?

I'm giving it 5 stars to balance out the bad reviews...It's fine to write a "preview" and give your opinions, but to...complain about a game you haven't even played is ridiculous. Even if you have played the Japanese import version, it's not the same as playing the American release. As most of us know, many significant changes often take place between Japanese and American releases.

I'm going to go into "preview" mode now. Silent Hill for PSX was one of my favorite games. Parts of it were really chilling and disturbing. Not in the cheesy "HA! I made you jump!" Resident Evil way, but in a brooding, psychological-thriller way. The art direction, sound, story and play mechanics came together in the game like no other. The overall effect was amazing. I still think about scenes from that game occasionally.

Everything I've seen and read leads me to believe that the PS2 sequel will be even better. Just hearing the "lead in" to the story about the letter from the hero's dead wife gave me the creeps. From the demos I've seen, the graphics look amazing. Real-time shadows, particle-based fog, lighting effects. Konami makes a quality product, and this should be no exception. This game will probably appeal to the more mature and thoughtful gamer, as the SH series tends to lack the cheap thrills of the RE series. It will please gamers who can enjoy a game on many levels, and even as a work of art.

Remember, this is a PREVIEW based on info I have...I think it will be great and I'm plannning on buying it the day it's released.

THE BEST ACTION/SURVIVAL GAME OUT THERE

Have you ever played Silent Hill for the Playstation. Well, I have and it is just amazing. It doesn't have very good graphics but the action and intensity of the game keeps you playing and playing. Imagine Silent Hill 2 for the PS2. I've seen some videos and pictures of this game, it is just amazing. The graphics are incredible. Harry, the main character has a very detailed face. While reading Gamepro magazine, it says that the game has one of the best graphics of most of the PS2 games. I recommend to all teenagers who like Resident Evil, or action/survival game. This is the best. Review, by Chris Armstrong

Will it deliver...?

Just happened to read the "review" from somebody that supposedly has played Silent Hill 2. Pretty odd considering the game was just released here in Japan. Maybe this person was mistaken, and he thought the first game was the latest... I wonder... Anyway, Silent Hill 2 is a big buzzword here in Tokyo, with many people lining up to hopefully get a good fright from this promising game. The previews and demonstration gameplay sure shows some of the weirder elements of the game (some of it is pretty grotesque), but hopefully it lives up to the hype and provides some challenging puzzles as well as the straight spooky stuff that is hard to find in a video game these days. From what I have seen and heard so far, it looks like it could very well be a winner. Will it deliver...? I surely hope so.

An Excellent Horror Game!

This game has to be the best survival-horror game ever! Silent Hill 2 has everything from interactive fog to a great storyline! The characters are greatly detailed and the monsters are even better and scarier than the first Silent Hill game. The sound effects in this game is fantastic! The graphics and enviroments are also great in this game! I say it is by far the best scariest game out right now! I don't know why some people are saying that this game is a waste of money, but from my opinion, this game is recommended!

Well to be perfectly honest I have been up all night playing on and off and my sense of reality is fleeting from me with each passing moment. Much like the first game, this one gets in your head and under your skin. The graphics are amazing, the sound is top notch, and the story and voice acting are perfect. The only problem I had was that if you played the first game a lot of this won't affect you as much having already been desensitized to it before (demon nurses in the hospital anyone?) But it is definitely a step up and not to be missed, they really took their time crafting this game to be perfect. The Resident Evil games to me were always like cheesy horror, enjoyable but highly silly and not at all scary. This game is the way it should be; leaving you in a state of paranoia and claustrophobia that continues even long after you've put down your controller. Don't miss it.
