Mortal Kombat is still King of Fighting games genre!!!

This game is the greatest of all Mortal Kombat games and any other fighting games for that matter (MUCH better than all the stupid Street Fighter games and Virtua Figher 4, Tekken, etc.)!! Like all the other Mortal Kombat games, it actually HAS a GOOD story (Shang Tsung (the original bad ...) and Quan Chi have teamed up!!!), so the game can be fun to play on your own or with friends. The graphics are phenomenal, incredible detail has been put into character and level design!! Ed Boon and his awesome kreator crew have outdone themselves. This game is also jam packed with secrets and tons of goodies so you'll be at you gaming console with this one for a while!! Nothing can prepare you for this!!!

Very Innovative,

This is probably the best Mortal Kombat game yet. It is altogether different from all MK games before it, although the base elements remain there (lots of blood, Fatalities).However, the Fatalities are diluted this time around.
a)there is only one per each character;
b)no arena Fatalities;
c)most of the Fatalities are either unimaginative or downright stupid (Quan Chi's Neck Stretcher made me want to hurt the developers).
However, aside from this and the fact that they used K's way too many times, there are few gripes to be found. The combat system is pretty original and actually quite deep, plus the input commands are very simple. Finally, a publisher that understands that fighting games are about strategy, not spending 5 seconds fighting with your fingers to input some complex button combination. The practice mode (Konquest) is easily the best ever in a fighting game and getting Koins for victories in battle and the Test Your Sight/Might minigames is very rewarding. You can later spend them at the Krypt to open over 600 "koffins". Most of them contain [junk], but some of them really have some cool things like hidden characters, costumes, and arenas, sending the replay value into uncharted territory. Overall, you should buy this game if you like fighting games and aren't offended easily (although you can turn the blood off). Some Mortal Kombat fans may be disappointed though because of the lack of Fatalities and how different this game is from the rest of the Mortal Kombats.

Best Fighter Ever!!!

This is THE BEST fighting game I have ever played. It sports awsome graphics, some of the best I have ever seen. there is also an extreme amount of blood, which makes the game all the more realistic. It has a huge amount of replayibility, giving you more bang for the buck. It can easily keep you interrested for hours on end. You earn Koins by winning battles and by training. With these Koins, you can purchase different things, such as alternate costumes, new characters, or old photos of the game in its early stages. You can also play with a friend and you can bet Koins, allowing for an excellent amount of friendly competition. Overall this game is an A+ title, and it is worth what you pay for it.

KILLER KOMBAT!!!

OK OK I know I am 21 now and should be WAYYYYYY past my video game days but...well when I saw Mortal Kombat again, it just brought me back to those nostalgic days of pizza and zits and the very first of the Kombat phenom that has swept the country! I was just 12 then of course but when I saw the real life simulations, the brutal fights, the blood, it was set in stone. Today with 3-D graphics, more blood and gore than you can shake a stick at, and a totally new 3 fighting styles approach, I found myself quick at the block buster for a preview of what would surely be a tribute to Mortal Kombat guru's everywhere! Needless to say I was taken immediately especially with the points you have to collect through training and fights! WOW what a way to keep a player interested and dishing out the blows! KUDOS to the Midway team and the meyham that is indeed sure to follow on this their newest addition to the Kombat Legacy.

I recently purchased this game and have found it to be extremely addictive. Each fighter has its own unique fighting style and cool combination of moves which make the game not only fun but challenging. The higher up you go is the more difficult it gets and the quicker and more accurate your skills need to be. You find yourself not wanting to put down the controls so that you can get to the next level. The practice mode is quite useful in figuring out the combinations that best suit each fighter. Playing with friends is even more exciting. Sometimes when I sleep I find myself dreaming about the game. It is a must have!!

Excellent!

The only negative I see with this game is the slow load times, but that's only because the graphics are so great! I also like the option of "turning down" the blood level. Fatalities are pretty good. Most go back to the originals, but with added features.

This is a great MK game. It features modes such as Konquest mode, A mode were you learn how to fight with every charactor, The Krypt, a mode that you purchase various items, and Kontent, were you can view your items purchased.

Pros:
*Great graphics
*Many charactors
*Many cool extras, like the MK history
*You can impale your weapons into you opponents to make them lose life faster.

Cons:
*The fatalities are extremely hard to perform
*Moloch is hard to beat
*Konquest can get repetative and hard
*Unlocking certain charactors is expensive

Story:
Quan Chi escaped from the Netherrealm and has joined forces with Shang Tsung. They are resurecting the mummified army of Onaga, the Dragon King. If the succeed, they will be unstoppable. Now you must defend earthrealm from this deadly alliance.

If you love MK, buy this game. If not, this is a good game to start with.

"MK Deadly Alliance" If not superior, then very good.

I know a lot of people believe, especially those who played the original game and its sequels, feel some negativity toward this version. I understand where you feel what you feel. I still think this game is worthy of the title, "Mortal Kombat", and wish to point out some of the intricacies of this version of "MK". I truly liked and supported the "History" film that describes in some cronology the effect of the series up until it's newest rendition, and it's an important addition to this series! I thought the system the game uses for those extra elements that sketch in the background of the game may not spell "best fighting game" to a few others, but at the very least spell "M O R T A L K O M B A T", and take their relics of the past into account somehow. I appreciated, even on the level of someone who appreciates the technology of videogames, the added depth of this explicit rehaul that give this game the cinematic quality deserved given the name of the game. For any negativity others express, I sympathize; but, what the game does, it does well. One reviewer on this page stated the narrator voice doesn't sound like "B-film", but like video game, and perhaps he's correct: I just thought he was wrong, myself. Although I'm not as dedicated to "MK" as some of its fans, I played the first two or three "MK" games and believe in some commitment to it, nonetheless. The history is true: the game addressed violence in a way other games did not, and for this I give it accolades. "Mortal Kombat" means something more than just itself, and this "Deadly Alliance" version is just fine. How can you complain? Instead of arguing about what was not there, perhaps you should search for your loyalty and appreciate what WAS there. Don't be fooled, this game IS worthy. It is also a fine-looking specimen for a game like this and deserves its credit. They probably spent more time on this version than any three of its predecessors, and I think it shows. Be happy with this updated version, and it could have been much worse. The "Krypt" idea works, and the extras are good, and I don't agree with the negativity of those who complain the extras don't matter here. Is "Mortal Kombat" a good game? Yes. Is "Mortal Kombat" bloody? Hell, yes. "MKDA" is a cinematic and professional-looking piece of game, no matter the negativity! This gives it something other fighter-type games don't necessarily have. Personally, I think the fighting scheme in this game works like the old "MK One" game, and maybe we expect the impossible without accepting what is actually here.

I vote for this game.

FINISH HIM!!!

I have had this game for almost a year, and just now got around to completing the entire konquest mode...really kool! All of the items you can purchase in the krypt with koins you have earned by kicking butt are for the most part pretty interesting, but some are a complete waste of time...beware!!Would like to know if some one can inform me how to pull off the fatalities that secret characters Blaze and Mokap do? Have fought awful long and hard to earn them! This game is well worth the purchase price! Have fun!
