Mortal Kombat has resurrected...with a Deadly Alliance!!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 38 / 51

Mortal Kombat is back and it never looked so good. That's right, and this time you will have to increase your strenght to defeat a very deadly alliance formed by the right hand of Shao Kahn, Shang Tsung, and a more powerful and more evil Quan Chi.

Incredible real graphics, with dripping blood, clothes ripping, and with fully interactive 3-D arenas, over 20 of them. Also, you will see the return of your favorite characters (Rayden, Jax, Sonya, Scorpion, Subzero, Kitana, Quan Chi, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, Kung Lao, and many more) and also a whole new cast, including Blind Kenshi, Moloch, Mavado, Female Subzero, and many, many more...over 20 characters in total.

But this isn't just about graphics and characters, because it now includes a great variety in the gameplay. The biggest change is the ability to change your fighting style (Karate, Taekwondo...) in the middle of a fight, giving you bigger and better combos. Each character will have three different fighting techniques.

Also, you'll be seen completely new fatalities, brutal and bloody, just the way we like it..

The Single Greatest fighting game continuing the MK legacy

No I am not a reviewer who knows almost nothing about this game. I have read about this, seen many screenshot, and looked into it. Lets start with some MK history. The original MK was a hit and anybody who was anybody owned it. Then MK2 was released about a couple years later. It also was a hit. Then Midway lost their reputation of makin an awesome fighting games when MK3 was released. Then other MKs (Ultimate 3, trilogy, 4 and gold) also [were bad]. Midway has finally found out what they have been doing wrong.
Midway knew they finally needed to think up new ideas for there fighting games instead of using ones that were already thought up by street fighter, virtua fighter and other fighting games.
Ok just like the other MKs there are a good amount of characters to choose, 20 in this one with new characters and old favs like sonja, jax, scorpion, and subzero. They have changed the looks of many of there characters. The 4 main things about this game that tops all others is:
1. Each character has 3 different fighting styles which u can switch during battle
2. More manueverability
3. Incredible graphics that top tekken tag, street fighter ex3, and even virtua fighter 4
4. Midway is going to make a quest mode or something like tekken force mode
By what i have read about this game and all the screenshots i have seen I will say this game is going to be not just awesome but the greatest fighting game of all time.
I hope this review was helpful.

Tekken, Virtua Fighter...meet the old school of fighting...

Let me see here...what do you get when you add outstanding textures, graphics, and rendering...a superb fighting engine...old friends to return with new looks, skills, and weapons...and a legend that left many shocked and very impressed? Quite simple, the legend that once was the most phenomanal combat game that people thought was now dead. Think again. Midway has brung Mortal Kombat back from the dead, and has completely redone the whole way we look at the world of this truly superb hand-to-hand combat game. First off, everything is brand...new (well except for the fighters, though there are a few exceptions). The levels, the fighting, the looks, the skills..there all new! The only thing that isn't is our old friends from the previous predecessors. There are some new friends as well though. Old bosses are back, new locations have been set, and a deadly alliance has been struck between the two most ... sorcerors ever to have been put on God's green earth. I'm too tired to write anything else, but rest-assured I will return with more information. And another thing, I'm not a reviewer who knows jack about this game, I've played, beaten, and learned most of what Mortal Kombat is all about. Tekken, Virtua Fighter...meet the old school of fighting...

The Most Impressive Game I've Ever Seen

Yes, the Kombat Kontinues. A hardcore old-skool fan of this series, like myself, would look at this game and jump for joy, and yes, I did. The gameplay is supposed to be wonderful, and if you've seen the screens you know that the graphics are kicking major a**. Anyway, with the release of MK1 in '92, I was overjoyed with the fun-factor of the game. MK2 (by far the best of the series until now) was loved by everyone, and was very addicting. MK3 was okay, but not to the same standards as the original duo. After the release of Ultimate MK3, I just stopped caring. More games were released, including MK4 (heck, I didn't even know about it until I found about the new one!), and they all failed horribly. And now it's back and better than ever! With some old skool favorites (Sub Zero, Scorpion, Kano, Johnny Cage, Sonya, etc.) the fun will never end. They have new kombatants also, which should be pretty cool, and hopefully they'll have other unlockable classics, too! That's all I can say about this wonderful game. I recommend you go out to stores on the day of its release and buy it. Happy Kombating.

I looked at every preview, every screen shot and this is not wat any1 would expect. It revolutionizes Mortal Kombat. I mean all the 2-D games were fine but then it got really dumb by the time it got to MK gold and MK4, but MK Deadly Alliance is better than all the games put 2gether.each fighter has 3 of his/hers own fighter style with different moves 4 each. the gameplay looks awesome. the characters look outstanding , well there is nothing else i can say other than WOW! I want 2 see Tekken or Street Fighter beat this game. and 4 all u die hard MK fans, but have a gaming system not PS2, this is also 4 XBOX, Gamecube, and Gameboy Advance. 4 christmas, 4 those parents who r shopping 4 a very good game 4 ur kids this will b the game they will play 4 many monthes 2 come. Hope my preview helps.

This game is probably the most exciting game to come around in years, bar none. I played it once at my friend's uncle's house, and he's a designer for Sony, so he had an advanced copy for PS2. I have to say, I was blown away by the amount of colors and characters. It was like a Dickens novel come to life, what with the emphasis on law, growing up, and consideration of the poor. The digitized voices also reminded me of Dickens characters, if not Shakespeare. Before each match there is a lengthy discussion between the fighters--all of whom are VERY VERY VERY different from each other and extremely distinct from any other characters in all other fighting games. Some of the characters remind me of people I know and celebrities, which is cool, because you can pretend that you're actually fighting against these people from "real" life. Okay, I don't want to shoot your attention span (mine's already shot) so I'll end the review by saying that "Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance" is an experience in the high tradition of the "XXX" movie this past summer, 2Pac's "California Love" music video, and most Charles Dickens novels (it especially reminded me of "Little Dorrit", which I haven't read).
