ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

This game lets you do everything from killing skeletons to raiding castles to creating high-level clans to be feared by all. An almost infinite number of items to find and sell and create (for dwarves), with even more to come with chronicle 2 coming out. I've been playing now for a while, and my friends know not to mess with me when i'm in L2 mode. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Some flaws, but all around great game!

Despite the constant badmouthing of this game, I find it very addicitive and an all around pleasing game. Of course the game does have its flaws(what games don't?)but they are easily suprassed by excellent gameplayability, good solid graphics, and a slew of monsters to bash!

The graphics were built on the UT2k4 engine so they are pretty on even a mediocre graphics card. Frame lag is almost non-exsistent if you have a somewhat decent card. The terrain and backround graphics are beautiful no matter what time of day your character is in.

The servers are still very new so the stability hurts and servers crash once and awhile but that is to be expected with such a new game. The minor glitches are being fixed on an almost daily basis and the game will near perfection quickly.

The early game is quite boring because you must try to level quickly but you eventually can dive into much more interesting events such as castle seiging or dragon fighting. The party system makes these events very fun and interesting.

PKers are a problem in early levels because they often try to kill of newbs but later on this practice of random PKing is frowned upon. PKers often find themselves suffering horid deaths at the hands of 10 other players. There are arenas set up for PvP fighting and thats the acceptable place to fight other players.

Despite a few bugs and problems the game is very fun and very addicting. I am really enjoying my time on Lineage II so far.

Addictive.

I have never been much of a gamer. Nothing has seemed to get me interested into a game before.

Until one day my friend begged me to download the beta and play it for a little while. After a while, I finally gave in and downloaded it. I never knew that I would fall in love with it.

I played it, like my friend told me to, and I liked it, then I loved it, and then I just became addicted.

The graphics are great, the quality is great, and the characters are drawn out very nicely.

If you love Fantasy and Adventure, then this game is perfect for you. I deffinately reccomend it!

best game ever

Ok first of all if you lag get over it, get cable or something ive been playing forever and I have no lag at all. You suck? well then i suggest you play more. It takes time. Dont cry about pkers its part of the game , just kill them if there higher get help from others as GM's do not help with crap like that there is no point if you have a problem with other people resolve it yourself. Ill admit the lvls 1-36 are boring but EQ1 sucks and so is 2 (going to be) WoW sucks i did the beta , this is deffinentaly the best game . thanks.

Its an MMORPG......

Ive heard far too many people complain about the grind in this game. The grind is part of all MMOs and should be a difficult process. I admire the Lineage team for making the level cap difficult to obtain. It will keep newb areas and mid-level content areas populated, as well as keeping a constant carrot infront of your nose. And, give it time to develop, once the end game pvp gets established I think that Lineage 2 has the potential to be the best non-carebear MMO out there.

Great

So far the beta was good....besides lack of server and lag but by retail it should be fixed. The one thing that really draws my attenion is the "Castle Seige" thats the one thing that looks VERY good.

Has potential

Played this game for 3 weeks solid and got to level 22. Like most MMORPGs, it is typical... Kill monsters, get xp, level up, rinse repeat.

The reason I quit was because of all the Korean bots (unmanned macro players) that farm adena (their money) and sell it on ebay. Furthermore, there is a lack of respect for anyone who isn't an american and thus a lot of racial animosity.

Was fun while it lasted but far from being the game to invest time into building a character.

Lackluster beyond the eye candy

if graphics are all you are looking for in a mmog, here it is. but in all honesty, L2 could have been a very good game. i have played since Closed Beta, and i am not the whiny kids that cry in the public channels. L2 is lacking alot of basic features most games tend to have, character creation is either one or two skins to choose from, not very original. also even to defend yourself from being PKD, you WILL turn purple, there by being fair game for all others to attack with no loss to them selves, other than turning purple, further more to heal a PK, or a mob someone is fighting yields no consequence, no purple or anything. Does this sound fair to you? each death is a 10% loss of xp, plus a chance to drop a item, as was stated elsewhere, leveling is very hard, too hard for me, i quit caring about levels a few days ago, the rewards seem few and far between. i hate being so negative in a review of anything, but this game was not up to north american standards of what is the "Norm" of mmogs or gaming. so my advice is this, if you are a grief player, or easily amused by pretty graphics, buy this game, otherwise, go to a more mature, rp friendly mmog.

One of the worst online RPG's ever

Made by Koreans for Koreans. If you're not Korean, you probably won't get it. Endless monster farming (treadmill as bad as EQ), and a HORRID PK system that rewards griefing and punishes those who defend themselves. They tried to get it right, but failed very badly. Too bad, because the game is beautiful. Anime-style characters on lush, gorgeous backgrounds...too bad the game sucks so bad. Don't think I played to 10 and quit. I had a 48 archer and a 44 shillien elder, but the game was just so poor, it couldn't hold my interest. There's an endless carrot-on-a-stick mentality here, that unless you can pour 8-10 hours a day into this game, you'll be stuck in lowbie-land and high level characters, that have ample free-time (read: children, or unemployed's) can kill you easily.

The game is just an endless treadmill of leveling, buy next best gear, level, buy next best gear, etc. It offers very few quests and most are unimaginitive and make you run around the world arbitrarily, causing a further time-sink. The whole game is designed to keep you playing (and paying$$) for as long as possible, with little upgrades here and there to sate your hunger for power. The koreans eat it up. You probably won't. Wait for WoW or EQ2.

Looks good but....

This game had nice graphics.

The controls are TERRIBLE! Click a spot on the ground to move to it? Yeah that works great when you are trying to click a target to cast spells at and you miss you will start running towards it.

De-leveling: If you die you will go down levels. Although this is a fresh strategy from other games i've played, i'm already sick of it.

I can't stand games with poor controls so this game was a total waste of money. I was hoping to replace Dark Age of Camelot with it but even with all it's flaws, Dark Age of Camelot is better.
