Evercrack-A need That replaces D&D,Shadowrun,and other's

I started this game almost when it 1st came out of Beta. It held many surprises, very much like D&D. Not only did it make D&D come to life, but, it is actually fun. Where else can you play with people in different countries all over the world, at any time of the day. I have several high Characters; Wizardess, Bard, Warrior, Cleric & Shaman, all of which I love to play. Massive zones to travel to, centered all on a massive world. and NOW they include a Moon and horses to boot. Yes at times I do get bored, but then something new arrives such as Luclin. There are many quest to perform, some single tasks, some that are almost impossible to complete, there is a good trading system involved. People will for the most part, bend over backwards to give you advice, some wanted and hehe, some that is not. Do you have a good solid private life?? Well with this game, you will have to include another just to keep up. You can be very addicted to this game, which is why it is such an outstanding game. Other games will be invented that may be better, but i trust these people will kep up with the breakthroughs needed to saty up with the best. Downfalls?? hmm... almost constant lag, not enough GM's to go around, only 60 levels,& last but definatley not the least!! Having to sleep eat and work just to be able toplay EQ.

All I can say, especially after some recent attempts by competitors, is that if you don't love eq, you won't love any MMORPG. It is the most incredible, endless online adventure you could hope to have, with a million challenges and a million ways to play. You will meet a ton of people, some of which will be annoying, but many who will end up being friends.

No one is "addicted" to everquest. Some people are weak-willed, can't stop themselves from doing things that are counterproductive or that help you procrastinate. This is not the fault of the game. Everquest is just so fun to play and has so much to it, you are going to want to play it a lot. Be warned.

EQ is much more than just "leveling up"

I've played EverQuest since the phase 4 beta test, something like 2.5 years or so ago (maybe longer). No other game has ever held my attention for that long, so to say that "you will only get bored" with it is a bit misleading. You get out of it what you put into it.

EQ is a community. You can interact with people from all over the world and make some very good friends (selectively, of course). Joining a guild is a great experience, provided it's a good guild. The idea is to have a group of friends whom you can banter around with, group with reliably, share equipment, etc. It really adds a great dynamic to the fundamental game.

(...). On the surface, EQ is largely a two dimensional game, but if you really dig into it you'll find that it's vastly three dimensional. It simply requires effort and desire.

I'm hopelessly addicted to EQ. Yes, I've had to put it asside now and again and take a "break" from it, but I always come back. It's the best entertainment I can find (...), and it lasts much longer than a dinner and movie.

Awesome!

This game is simply amazing! Its fun for all ages, seriously. Anyone as young as 7 can understand how to play and enjoy it, but only those mature and patient enough will make it to lvl60. It may sound boring, all you do IS level up, but it seriously cannot compare to any other game on the market. Its simply on the next level.

Jeez

I have been on EQ for just over 2 years and always enjoy finding whats around those hard to reach corners, and can't wait for this new expansion. If I could rate this site at this point in time you'd get a 1. Whats the point of pre-ordering if I could get it at the store sooner.(...). I would have to reccomend this game for familiy's as it prompted me to finnaly install a LAN and DSL so I could play with my kids and help them learn the wonders of EQ.
As for it being a waste and impossible most who say that fail to learn to work with others towards a common goal, therefore get stuck behind their own Egos.

In the many months since this title was added to the EQ lineup it has in fact significantly changed the virtual world of Norrath.

I think one of the things about it that matters most is the fundamental shift in the virtual economy it created. You see in EQ you can buy and sell and practice trade skills with other players. Before this expansion you had to hang out in a common locality and basically spam all other players in that zone to sell your wares. This expansion introduces "the bazaar" which changes all that. You can park a character there turn on the trading feature and you are the merchant, you can walk away for hours which many do. It's had a significant impact on our server actually driving prices down and making the items that make a more playable character more readily available and accessible.

So just on the trade skills and trading alone I think it is worth it.

Then there are the zones and the Vah Shir. I admit to being a cat person and playing a cat person on EverQuest :) There is a huge area added in the moon zones, so much so there are 4 CDs in the expansion and the cat people race is just plain cool in my opinion. Not that I have anything against the frog people mind you, I just think being a lion man is more appealing than being a tadpole :) JK.

At first I was skeptical because of the laggishness in some zones but I solidly recommend it now and they have fixed many of the early role out issues.

Although I obviously do not have this expansion set yet, I have been playing EQ since november of 1999. It is a very addictive but exspensive game. This game owns your life. When I stopped playing I had so much more fun with my life. I went out with my friends just about everyday when I quit this game. I saved a lot of money to. The game itself really isnt that fun when you break it down. What do you do? Sit in one spot waiting for a certain monster to pop up, sometimes for hours and even then it doesnt show up. Then if you are lucky and you spot the critter, you need to be even luckier in order to get some rare item off it. After all this waiting what do you do? You either sell it or keep it, and repeat this painstakig process. I only gave it 3 stars because its addictive
