Falls Short of FFX

FFX was an amazing gaming experience. I played it consistently over monthes and it provided exciting gameplay, in which it never got old. I spent hours searching for the secret of the game and beating it, and I played it again.
Upon buying FF X-2 i was extremely dissapointed. Truthfully, after an hour of playing this game I stopped.
The music was horrible, pop music, which was blatently obvious, unlike the background tones of FFX. I was practically laughing at the stupid opening 'dance' scene. The storyboard does not draw you in like the exciting opening of FFX, and at the beggining of the game, you don't have a specific goal. The characters too were completely different. The personailtys are completely different; for example, Yuna was a shy but forceful summoner, and now she is a ditzy dancer. I mean, in a game where your skills are built by changing your clothes, how good can it be? I'm a 15 year old gamer, and this completely turned me off from the game; i mean yea they are hot but that doesn't change the gameplay. The battling also is not as structured, and, unlike FFX i found it extremely complicated.
I don't suggest buying this game, FFX fans.

Wow. This was terrible.

Okay people. This game is totally misleading. I thought there were a lot of handy ideas to enhance gameplay, and graphics were certainly a bonus. However, as a continuation to Final Fantasy X, I don't think this game had much of a point whatsoever. Yuna, who had been a summoner, was now a sphere hunter. She's hunting Tidus throughout, oh Tidus, where oh where art thou? What a sour pain in the bum. Guess this is because I am a sentimental girl who wanted a more clarifying ending. I guess, this game to anyone who plays it will either be really *really* bad, or really *really* good. I found it to be terrible, leaving more questions than answers at the end. Like a bad sequel to a killer movie.

Disgusting

I am very disapointed with this game. FFX was pretty good though some of the scenes were cheesy...With FFX-2 all you get is ditzy chicks with stupid oneliner. No joke...Paine says "Ice, Ice, baby" when she casts Blizzard... This game was supposed to be geared toward women, but instead its just insulting. The three main characters act like bratty 12 year olds. They are supposed to be 19 and 20! Rikku is the most annoying of them all...all she does is whine in a high pitched voice. The dress sphere idea is completely idiotic. They can change dress spheres in the middle of a battle! Overall its a waste of money. If you can borrow it, maybe give it a try...but dont buy it....

Damn this sucks

This game is actually pretty horrible. I am far into it, and it seems like it's getting worse. I think SquareSoft(Enix) has gone to crap. They keep making games worse. In ten 2, they change the characters personalities way too much. Yuna drops her spiritual beliefs and becomes a singer. How dumb is that! There also aren't too many new enemies, they look kinda the same. You also can only use three characters, and they all are chicks. No offense, chicks can fight, but you always need a badass guy (like Auron) to be there. To Square Enix, change your name back because it was sweet. Also stop making dumb sequels that don't make sense with the original. Stop making FF XI, cause I'm pretty sure that it will suck. Leave the online adventures to Everquest (which I don't like anyways). The best idea I can suggest is to remake FF VII for the PS2 with advanced graphics and gameplay, but keeping everything else the same. That game was the best.

this isn't a final fantasy this is final fantasy with crappt dance sequences

this isnt a proper final fantasy this is final fantasy with crappy dance sequences. ok this game starts of with a dance sequence with someone {if youve played ffx} who was up tight and a selfless hero in this she's one of the spice girls literally its like three spice girls pain=scary spice {buch and acts like a man only shes white}rikku=baby{bloody irratating the worst game character ever}and yuna=ginger{she doesnt no her place) and the new yuna in this game detracts as much as sofia coppola does in godfather part three the fighting style gets put down by dress spheres look i love final fantasy every single one except this this game belongs in hell with hitler

This game is crap. Period.

I waited 2 months for this game to come out. FFX had been an awesome game, but this....this, REPULSIVE game is just terrible. It took one of the better characters and made her a stripper. ANd as far as plot, heres the script.
*talk talk talk giggle giggle giggle*
*gossip*
*oh Tidus flashback ah im so sad!!* (rolls eyes)
Go buy FFX or IX, this game should be burned.

Thanks. Now we can always be grateful.

I would like to thank the makers of "Final Fantasy X-2" personally, as opposed to Amazon.com itself (on a quick note, Amazon is a great place to buy things, and they have wonderful prices).

To the makers: thank you so much... thank you for injecting cultural (I'll say it again: CULTURAL... similar to the "Snake-spaz" scene in "Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes") and up-to-date references directly into this screaming beast of a game, and for changing the word "fantasy" in this series from adventures and exoticism into the other "fantasy" word, which contains ambiguous plot developments and eroticism.

Wow, I'm actually stunned... I can't thank you enough, honestly.

Finger-in-throat dialogue and rhetorical innovation rears it's frighteningly beautiful head as you can't do anything to stop this "have a good time and kick butt!", instant blockbuster.

I'll spare you fans anymore of my "cynical" views on this game (I'm going to get plagued with [beep] anyway...), but I will leave this on last statement for the buyer who is interested in this game, and who has also enjoyed past "Final Fantasy" games as much as I have: the fantasy is dead; enjoy the new, "hip" perspective! (gives thumbs up)

...

On another note, the battle system was intriguing, but it doesn't save the game.

-Julian.

Oh my gosh this game rules!!!!!!!!I cant even explain how cool it is.I got it today, and wasnt expecting much from it and I couldnt explain how awsome it is.It is so deep and in depth, that it really shows and the incredible graphics have slightly improved to perfection, and the turn based battling and gameplay stay the the same, except you can jump and climb ledges in this one.In this FF you can change your characters clothing and the clothing tou choose depends on your stats like your health and attack power and attacks. As you can see , this FF is very customizable in many other ways too.Of course this game is very long and exciting and has many twists and turns also.To the cutscenes to the entertaining gameplay, this game kills!!!!!!!From now on if someone asks me what my favorite Final fantasy,I reply,FFX-2.ANYONE CAN ENJOY THIS GAME,ITS ONE OF MY FAVORITES AND NOW I TELL YOU,BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I CAN ALMOST GUARENTEE YOULL LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!You should also buy the strategy guide too.Well, thats it for now thanks soo much for reading this review, see y'a!

like, oh my god, like, after watching queere eye for the straight guy, and like, I was totally driving to the mall in the new convertable that my mommy like totally got me, with my totally best friend ever, and like totally like decided to get this game. Like, we were like totally only going to the mall to get our hair and nails done, and like to maybe pick up a totally awesome new pair of shoes and underwear from victoria's secret, and, we like, were looking for the new Britney Spears CD, and totally saw this game and it seemed just so cool! I totally like Yuna's hair! oh my god! It is so pretty. And like, I totally have the same thong as Rikku! Like, Oh my god!.

Seriously.... This game is totally freaking gay. It is the gayest final fantasy game I have ever seen. It is not final fantasy at all. They should have called it "Barbie, the game" or "girl power!" or something. The only reason square enix didn't make it a separate RPG, is so they can recycle final fantasy X to save money, and use the name to boost sales.

If you loved 10--This is ALL for you!!

I have to say I was kind of concerned at first, because this is Squares first attempt at a TRUE sequel, but I got a playable demo of the game in a gaming magazine and WOW. It is just fantastic.

10- The Graphics are just beautiful! (Of course that's expected from any square game now) I was REALLY excited about all of the costumes, and they are just GREAT!

8- Gameplay is kinda annoying with the jumping and climbing up/down ledges, and the active battle system without the option of 'wait' was kinda annoying, but I amazingly quickly got used to it. I couldn't pull up the menu in the demo, so I really can't comment on that...

9- Sounds were cool. Some of the music is really not that great.(Some of it sounds like it's right from the 70's) but it's only in a few particular spots. The voices are just great, I was saddened however when I realized that the girl who did Rikkus voice in 10 is not the same person in 10-2(I think...though I'm almost positive. She sounds a little too grown up).

10- Overall I CAN NOT WAIT to buy this game. I'm gonna get a new memory card just for 10-2 cause I know there's gonna be a lot of scenes I will want to save! Buy this ASAP! And to all the Square fans out there: 'BOW before the almighty Squaresoft gods!'
