Good game, but not Great

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 6 / 7

This game is a good game. I just think there were somethings that caused frustration. They even caused me to go on-line to see what was I missing!! I NEVER do this with a game unless I beat it ligitamitely.

Pros:

1)Music is wonderful. Some of the tracks were somber and fit the mood of that level. Very, very good. I'd even buy the soundtrack if they have one.
2)Missions are pretty good in variety.
3)Graphics are nicely done.
4)Sound Effects are great.
5)Load times are quick and very painless!!!
6)Variety in nazi death animation.

Cons:

1)When you complete levels and you only get a bronze star even though you cleared the level of all nazis. Only to find out you had to climb a windmill to spawn the last wave of nazis needed. This was very annoying in the "Rough Landing" level. Other levels keep spawning nazis even though you clear that area out. It seems when you turn your back more just pop up. This was the #1 gripe I have with this game.
2)The BAR weapon is useless. For being a big gun and looks like it'd be powerful, it isn't. I have to shoot multiple shots to kill nazis with that gun than others. I get better results with the handgun, or the automatic machine gun. Even grenades are better.
3)Enemies shoot through walls and other solid objects.
4)Enemies are alerted to you even though you move at a snail's pace and are behind them.

I think that's about all I have a problem with. If you're like me where you go in and just try to get a gold star on every level to see what bonuses you get, well it's going to be very long and frustrating. If you are one of those that just go through the game to finish it, well, you'll be pretty happy with this game.

Okay, have fun. For the price of this game it's a good deal. Just remember not to get TOO frustrated.

Later, Vader.

I Forsure played the frontline demo and its so damn amazing!!!!!!
your allies and enimies have tight AIs with so many details. The sound is so shocking, you can hear bullets pass right by you if the voleum is high. There so many details in the game, anything you shoot they show stuff comming out like leaves and more. There are 2 or 3 bugs in the game, soldiers walking into walls, soldiers jumping so high like 3 ft in the air. The graphics arn't fulling done cause its just a demo and its still amazing!!! but ea just doing that cause they want to suprise you with the full mohfl game cause i saw the fully graphics on the official site, so amazing!!. You can use M1 Garand, Colt. 45, Gernades in the demo and i can't wait till i get the full one. ...

Amazing, simply amazing

General/Summary: General/Summary: Let me put it this way, I was about ready to get XBOX just for HALO until I rented MOH Frontline (that was before I rushed to Circuit City to buy ps2) I have no doubt that many people will think Frontline deserves Game of the Year. So, lets get down to business.

Gameplay: The gameplay is awesome. I tried out all of the versions of controls, and found MOH Sharpshooter my favorite, although it took a few minuets to get used to. There are many cool things you can do. Crouch, strafe, wack people in the head, etc. The movement controls resemble James Bond, Agent Under Fire and Half-Life. The only flaw is aiming. Although I am now used to aiming, it was - and still is (only a little bit) - frusterating. You need pinpoint accuracy to bring a Nazi soldier down. And - how could anyone survive a shot in the head from a Springfield sniper rifle? The soldier usually stumbles or falls down, only to get up again and meet an angry blast from a tompson sub-machine gun. But overall, the gameplay deserves a 4.

Graphics: Amazing. These are probably some of the absolute best ps2 graphics yet. There are little flaws here and there, but they don't spoil the fun whatsoever. Playing D-day, I became drawn into the realism. The machine gun fire coming from the bunkers on the hill, your battle-hardened comrads fighting desperatly for every inch of the beach, and the screams of dying soldiers really move you and make you realize how horrably the real event was. 5

Sound: Outstanding. The sound plays a big part in making this game so great. The music is usually sad and dramatic, but just showing how emotional the whole thing is. Example. In the mission Arhem Nights, you are fighting alongside British troops for control of a bombed-out town (Arhem). The distant and close rattling and blasts of gunfire add the carnage, and the music adds the sadness and realism of WWII. 5 (10 if it went up to that)

In all, Medal of Honor: Frontline is a truly awsome FPS for ps2 and if you dont have it, then get your rear-ends to the nearest store and get it!

I recently played a MoH:Frontline demo and all I can say is- WHOA! The graphics and sound were amazing. You hear bullets whiz by your head. Planes dropping bombs blow streets apart. I can't stop playing the demo. The gameplay is a little hard but thats okay because surviving in a war is hard also. If you can, go out and buy the June Playstation Magazine and play the demo.

man is it good

alright here's the deal. up until i recieved this months playstation magazine, the best game i had was undoubtably gta3. but when i looked at the demo disc i noticed MOHF as a playable. as soon as i could i played it, and i am definetly gonna buy it. when i own this game it will compete with gta3 for the best game in my possesion and i think it might win. the graphics are stunning and the AI is excellent. in one situation i threw a grenade, the AI was so smart it actually threw it back at me!! the reactions of when an enemy would be shot is great and the framework is great. this is an excellent game and i am looking foreward to june 6.

Good overall, not great

Medal of Honor Frontline is probably the best MOH made so far. The graphics are grand, especially for the character models. The music gives emotion to each level, and the sounds are great as well. The controls are somewhat odd at first, especially if you're new to the MOH series, but once you get it down, it's easy. The problems I found though are known to lots of others. One of which is there is no multiplayer. This makes the games replay value kinda low, and everyone liked the multiplayer because it was FUN! Another problem is that there aren't many levels where you work with others, like the british and other US squadrons. It would've made the game a lot more realistic, other than taking on the Nazis all by yourself (which I think is impossible to do. One man can't save the world.) Besides these let-downs, the game is full of action and thrills and plenty of fun. If you're new to the MOH series, then Frontline is a great introduction. If you're a veteran though, you'll be happy, but not too surprised.

Pros:
-Graphics are smooth.
-Music is the best I've heard in a game.
-Sound is crisp and realistic.
-Controls are easy to get used to.
-Work with other troops!

Cons:
-No more multiplayer..
-Not many "buddy-up" missions
-Also, there is some slowdown

Overall: See Title

Mike's Review Of Medal Of Honor : Frontline

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 4 / 4

Medal of Honor : Frontline had to be one of the best first person shooters ever made. It was way better than the last one (Allied Assault). It gives you the feel of being in World War II. The environments are very well done. Everything was great. Even the replay value is high!

Jimmy Patterson is sent into enemy territory to find a special plane that could determine the fate of WWII. You play as Jimmy and go to many places. You storm the beaches of Normandy. You travel through mine shafts. You go to parties. You travel the streets of Germany.

This game's weapons are great. You recieve pistols, submachine guns, shotguns, grenades, rocket launchers, sniper rifles, and many more.

The graphics are nicely done. It was very realistic.

I loved the game. Nothing compares to it. It is a must buy! Trust me! You'll get hooked!

Rated Teen for strong violence and brutality.

Very nice game and a look into hstory.

Medal of Honor Frontline is a very good first person shooter and can easily be said to be one of the best. Not quite there yet, but PS2 gamers will be proud to have seen this.

You start off on June 6, 1944 D-Day. The game really shows you what a battle field was like, and what WWII was like. You are fighting the Germans in this highly detailed WWII game.

The graphics are amazingly detailed. Most everything has a reaction as well. If you shoot at a metal box for instance, look at it and bullet holes will be there. Also its realistic in a way as well. For example depending on where you shoot a soilder depends on the damage they take. Shooting thm in the head results in an instant kill.

However, this also goes for you as well. If you're shot in the head you'll die instantly. Your life can be easily restored by finding Medical Kits, Field Surgeon Packs, or just as easily Medical Canteens.

You get a big arsenal of weapons, each with its own ability through the 19 intense levels. Difficulty is actually hard. Even on the easy difficulty setting the game can be hard. Especially when you get further then what you were. The game keeps getting harder and harder.

The AI is also pretty good, and some people you can even hold up. Each objective is different. Some you place bombs on objects, others you're a body guard. Either way a mission is a mission.

As you go through each mission you can always look at your menu and see what still needs to be done. This makes it so that you don't have to see everything in the briefing, or memorize it.

Overall: This is a very exciting game. But once you've been through the missions once its not as exciting the second time.

Love it. fixed the problems of the first 2

I love this game. I think it is amazing as i thought all of the medal of honor games were. But with the ones before 1 man wins the war. With this it is fixed. The first mission has you on the beaches of normandy and you have to survive find your squad members and get to the beach. My favorite is the 3rd level. This is probably the most realistic level i have seen in a WW2 game. You have to parachute in with the 101st airborne and do stuff with them. It is a very realistic game. For those of you that said you don't like this game because 1 man wins the war you are wrong i can see that for the first 2 but not with this one this is the one where they fixed it. To sum it up great game with all fixed problems of the first one and you don't win the war by yourself.

Simply, plainly fabulous...4 1/2 stars

What a fabulous gaming experience...I don't know what more to say. I gave it five since I've seen other 4 1/2 reviewers give the game 4 stars...this'll balance it out.

I must strongly encourage you, especially if you're a dad playing his son's Playstation (that's how I "sold" my wife on the merits of buying a PS2...it's for our son!), don't start at 11pm. There have been a few nights where I've said to myself "just one more try" to finish a level, only to look back up at the clock and see that it's 4:30am. DO NOT DO THIS. Your next day in work will feature a blistering headache, and a burning desire to play the dumb thing again.

For old-timers like me (at least in video-gaming history...I had the original Pong console when I was a child), it's still a lot of fun. It's just important to remember that summer vacation doesn't exist anymore.
