Great game and lots of fun!

This is a really cool game. A lot of people are picky about the graphics in games but I'm not. However, the graphics are good enough in this game for anyone to play it. There are a bunch of levels to play. There are plenty of weapons to use to get you through this game. Also, there are a lot of glitches in the game. My friend has this game also and the glitches make us laugh sometimes. -Clark

Great! Except for 2 things

I got a chance to play the Medal of Honor Frontline demo, and there is no doubt this game is no less than a masterpiece, however, the only thing I wasn't happy about was that there is no blood. When you shoot a Natzis or anybody for that matter, there is no blood. If there is no blood it really doesn't complete the whole aspect of what war was about. Also, not that you would want to do this, but, if you accidentally try to shoot one of your fellow soldiers, nothing happens, they don't get hurt or die. I am sure back in WW2 when something like that accidentally happened the bullet would have injured or even killed a fellow soldier. Other than those 2 things, this game is an absolute masterpiece. BUY IT!

I have the full Medal of Honor Frontline Game. Iam a WW2 buff. The play is outstanding. I served in the military from 1985-1993, Iam also a Gulf War Veteran. The combat sounds is so real it brought back some real memories of combat in the gulf, minus the sound of jets screaming overhead. Get this game EA has done it again!

Ten Times Better than I Expected (4.5 stars)

"Medal of Honor: Frontline" really surprised me. I've only had a chance to play it a few times, so I do admit I am no expert at the game. BUT, from what I HAVE played, I can tell you this much: this is an awesome game.

This isn't your average shoot 'em up game. You have objectives to complete while trying to avoid heavy enemy fire. The pressure is there, and if you're not prepared, you're not going to live long enough to get into some real action. The very first mission is breath-taking; very much like from the opening of "Saving Private Ryan." I was very impressed.

Graphics are AMAZING! Very realistic, and really enhances the game that much more. Though, I would've liked to see some blood and gore. So many games are violent just for the sake of being violent, but in THIS game it would've made it more powerful and realistic. I really think the game would've been a lot more better with some blood and gore.

Controls: You might need some time to get used to them. I know I did. There's two different control styles you can chose from.

All in all, I thought this was an excellent game. Now, is this the best game for PS2? Well, I still think "Grand Theft Auto 3" is the best game for PS2. However, this is a very impressive game. I hope they make more like this.

Has its moments - but

I never played any of the other MOH games but the trailer for this looked cool so I rented it one night last week. The first mission is cool enough - obviously inspired by Saving Private Ryan - but I soon became frustrated by the games controls. Having to use the analog nubs to move, look, and aim the gun was tricky - and the constant vibrations given off by the dual shock controller made aiming at far off targets extremely difficult. Although the game itself was intriguing - it was fun to blow up stuff - there are still plenty of problems that I don't expect from the PS2.
1) The A.I. in the game, while intelligent, still suffers from slight [confused] at points - running at walls for instance or seemingly becoming confused.
2) The poor aiming system without any auto aim (even the centering feature seems off center) makes hitting any target with accuracy difficult. Many times I found myself having to take a few hits just to get a shot off.
3) There isn't that much freedom in movement. Even when walking around outside you are limited to the paths that you can take. Basically, you must walk a certain route and can't go any other direction. It becomes frustrating when you realize that your freedom is actually quite limited.
4) You can't kill NPCs like in games such as Half-Life. What's the fun of a war game without friendly fire. Bleh!
5) The music - Eventually they will figure out that it takes longer than 10 minutes to finish a level in these games and make the music a bit more subdued or at least less monotonous. During one espescially tricky level I was ready to kill myself due to this loud and repetitive score.
6) It's too darn loud! At times the explosions and gunfire drown out the game dialogue. Espescially in the opening mission. I understand that war is noisy - but all of those explosions didn't drown out the music!
All in all, the game - while at times fun and impressive - comes down to your average FPS. There is no real challenge to the game if you take your time - but you'll find that you want to finish the game as soon as possible, just because it becomes repetitive after some time. Perhaps worth a rental - but don't buy this one.

I love the MoH games. I have every single one so far except for Frontline. I love the way the game was made, FPS, shooting enemies with a large aray of weapons. If you loved the other MoH's, then you'll most likely love this one even more, enhanced graphics, better gameplay, hopefully longer and harder levels. I haven't beaten MoH Underground yet, I'm waiting to get it back from my friend who I let borrow it over a month ago, he truely loves it. I can't wait til June 6th or 7th. I read the review for it in my newly purchased Game Pro magazine, can't wait to play it! If you like FPS's, then this is your game. Taking place in the Nazi owned lands and destroying your enemies with small or large weapons is very fun, I wish you could control a tank in one level. BUY IT IF YOU LIKE THE OTHER MoH'S!!!

Way too linear, but fun all the same

Like the title of my review says, the game is a lot of fun but you must complete task A then B then C then D etc....which limits the enjoyment.

Aiming is a bit difficult, but the cut scenes are in classic black and white which is a nice touch.

Why settle for single player

This game is fun but my question is why did they settle for single player. What I mean is this game like many others could have easily been made a 2 player split screen cooperative game. Then I would say the perfect game. Who agrees with me that this would be the greatest game if it were split screen cooperative. Over all this is a good war game but it would be better if it were 2 player split screen cooperative. Well its just a tip for the next medal of honor game Well click the yes under the review if u think this game should be coop and click no if u think it shouldnt. Thank you.

I expected so much from this title, but it suffers from the exact same problems as the first two MOH titles. They are as follows (in order of frustration level to me)
Problem #1: Bullets come from absolutely nowhere... while this has been toned down since the "underground" installment, it is still very prevalent. Your enemies will shoot straight through buildings on occasion, and bullets will travel around corners as well.

Problem #2: Every Nazi you come across is an absolute crackshot. I can sit there and watch an enemy through a thick fog in my sniper rifle scope from 200-300 yards sidestepping my crosshairs or running from side to side and hosing me down with a WWII-era STG40 automatic rifle (one of the most ridiculously inaccurate weapons ever made) with AT LEAST 70% accuracy at the same time- needless to say, this ends the level for me rather quickly. If I have a hard time sniping someone with a SNIPER RIFLE even though they are dead center in the crosshairs, they'd better suffer the same problem.

Problem #3: Lt. Patterson is an IDIOT when it comes to weapons. He can squeeze the trigger, but aiming is another story. You should see "Operation Repunzel"- I am armed with a silenced pistol, getting hit from all different directions, and I can't hit a guy standing less than 3 feet away! The moron fires and a bullet hole appears in the wall behind him at least 45 degrees from the intended target. In short, it's ridiculous. A U.S. Army Lieutenant had to have been better trained in small-arms skill than this if he is to have survived WWII. Fortunately, he shoots quite well with a sniper rifle, but the machine guns and pistols are beyond frustrating.

Problem #4: Realism. I never quite felt like I was executing a mission, but rather it seemed like a wild goose chase from medkit to medkit, absorbing dozens of bullets in my not-so-human body in between. This may have passed in the heyday of FPS's like DOOM, but today that stuff shouldn't cut it.

Fellow gamers, is this what you think we should be getting from "the most realistic WWII shooter of all time?" Sure, the graphics, controls, and sound are great, but it lacks the flair where it really counts. Skip this one.

Not Bad....

...but not good. As another reviewer said, the playability of this game is just silly. Graphics=Great, Sound=Great, Realism=Truly leaves you scratching your head. As mentioned by someone else, the enemies can engage you way before you can engage them. Now, granted, some of them have the accuracy of the bad guys in a Rambo movie, but more often than not, you will get pegged from somebody that you can't even see. I even noticed that no matter where I took cover, I still got hit. The only way to make it remotely real is to cheat and put it on one-shot kill mode. As the other reviewer said, you will get nailed about 4-5 times before you can even aim, and then all you do is continually re-aim because every time you get hit, the cross-hairs move. The one-shot cheat solves this by actually making enemies go down when you shoot them. But, I hate cheating to win a game. If you want a first-person shooter that is as close to real as they can get, buy any of the "Half-Life" series of games. I have played first-person shooters since the original "Castle Wolfenstein" came out for the old 286 computers (remember those kids?), and I must say that I have yet to find a more realistic and engaging game than "Half-Life". All-in-all, MOH Frontline is not a game that people should buy if they are looking for realism. Rent it for a weekend, solve it, and then move on.
