Why does everyone complain about the lack of assortment of moves??? I think the moves are reality based...I mean really how many moves the Rock do in any given match? I could probably name most of them on my two hands and i only have 3 fingers on each. Where's the reality in the Big Show having 50 moves? Whoa a nice school boy to his repitoire... Or the Rock with a camel clutch or dropkick... Can anyone picture the Rock doing a dropkick??? Seriously? I like the Rock and all but people constantly bickering about how smackdown two doesn't have a enough moves. I will say if one were able to edit a characters moves it would be alot better. Who remembers the days of SEGA and NINTENDO.... where 6 moves of any kind were tolerable. Everyone expects too much too fast. Yeah, I want Stone Cold to give me the finger in this game...or the Rock to call me Hermi....Who wouldn't? The perfect game is not out there. Everygame has it's flaw. If THQ can collect all the data from here and incorporate it we'd be in business. We are all spoiled to the fact that technology allows expansion. We might as well sign up for the WWF and jump in the ring ourselves and find out we can't even do 5 in ring moves. I myself can be happy with any game that doesn't have atari graphics,4 moves that include the giant swing...and I don't need to lodge another game into the system just to play it. Wrestling games have come along way...when us gamers turn into 50 yr old men...the games we always dreamed of will be out and punk kids like us will be ripping on it. People just need remember where you're roots are before you rip on a game.

WARNING: Buying This Game Will Waste ...

For those thinking about purchasing this game, I urge you to put your money towards something more enjoyable, like extensive dental surgery.

The game simply did not live up to the hype. Unfortunately, there are many discrepancies in the game. The WWF Title is only defended to the number one contender, thus ruling out Triple Threat or Fatal Fourway matches. Also, involving the WWF Title, it is only defended on average, about once a year.

The cut scenes are too frequent and worse than the ones in the predecessor. The game tries too hard to follow past WWF scripts. For instance, while going in to WrestleMania, with The Undertaker as champ, they followed the WWF script, seeing a no title main event of The Rock, Triple H, and Mick Foley. The World Champion Undertaker was thrown in a non-title match with Funaki and Road Dogg. This just isn't right.

Smaller things are no good. For example, the turnbuckle and its moves are almost impossible to execute, as the arcade style engine doesn't allows the selling of moves.

The only plus in this game is the cheap thrill of the "Now Loading" screen you get of a close up of Debra's chest. But personally, ... is not worth ten seconds of a cheap thrill. Save your money.

What a game

I haven't played this game yet but the reviews make it look well good. Smackdown 1 was good but they say that this is better. It has a ladder match, a casket match and a table match and if u want all 3 in 1. It also has all the modes from smackdown 1 plus a 4 man anywhere falls match.

I feel that this game is gonna be wiked and not 1 to miss out on I can't wait for it to come out.

Smackdown 2 this is all too confusing

I pre-ordered this and I see Ladder and Hell in a Cell matches and Tables are in this I then went to a site and they said Ladder was not in here and to win Table you must beat KOTR on hard with one of the dudleys. Then another site said Ladder match's are in here so I checked this games pictures Hell In a cell is in it Guest Ref 1 or 2 can go on in Scotty does the worm Rikishi gives stinkfaces TLC match is one that I have not heard from any sources just reviews so it might or might not be their Tables are in it Ladders are in it Chairs are in it

The only way their might be a TLC match is on Tables or Hardcore matches or something

Angle is their

In HIAC you can chokeslam people threw the cell or throw them off

You can hit people in backstage fights with cars

You can come out in other peoples matches

Their is never a computer ref walking around although that would be cool like in NES and SNES when you would smash chairs on the ref and killing him with finishers

If you had to choose this or No Mercy I really dont know you have alot of stuff in here and No mercy doesnt have a HIAC.

Their is a announcer booth no commentery and a flat Jerry King and JR

This game will be great also Taker rides the motorcycle to the arena

5,000,000 stars!

The highly anticipated sequel to Smackdown is a big disappointment. The load time is tremendously long, some cut scenes do not even need to be in the game as they are a waste of time. The hell in the cell match is supremely overrated and the matches in the season mode make no sense whatsoever. They have people like the Rock fighting guys like Albert in the main event.

A lot of the people do not look like themselve. Jericho looks nothing like himself, and Rikishi's body looks disfigured. The moves are very basic. There is no jaw dropping effects or moves about this game. Some hidden characters are not worth unlocking...like the unknowns...and who really wants to play as Michael Cole or Gerald and Pat to name a few.

In season mode, when you skip matches you have to wach faces and a meter so you have to wait on that too instead of just skipping. The change character during season mode has been scrapped in this game as well...so basically there are over 65 characters in the game and you're stuck with using one unless you start a season over. As I said the load time is so long and cut scenes so useless that you might want to take a nap before you get to fight. Smackdown 2, waste of money...rent it if you want to play, but don't waste your money.

Smackdown 2 lays the smackdown on the compettion!

finally for the 1st time in wwf gaming history, out comes a game with enough modes to last a lifetime. With matches including a ladder match a hell in a cell and for the 1st time on a game a casket match, there is so much to do! Compete in matches wit h top superstars such as stone cold, rock undertaker kane and new to the playstation rikishi, chris benoit, 2 cool and the olympic champion kurt angle! go to the season mode and witness an incredible thing! with more cut scenes and matches and pay per views then the original smackdown 2 is an all out brawl. i reccomend this title for any gamer any age!

This is the best wrestling game I had ever played for playstation. Its graphics and gameplay, it's very similar to the first SmackDown. Besides season mode, players can fight in ladder, table, and chair matches. Their battles can spill over into back areas, in which furniture and even traffic abound. Wrestlers can even drive a forklift over their opponents for particularly painful results. All of the ring entrances are there in fine detail. Players also can create their own wrestler with hair, weight, and accessory options that rival those of any wrestling game out there.

Looks good..no...great...no fantastic!

Tme first WWF Smackdown was great with great graphics smooth gameplay and great sound so I am expecting a much better game with Smackdown 2: Know Your Role, with it's new table, ladder, Cell, and casket matches plus a new updated roster including The Jobbers and I am also looking forward to it's new backstage areas. Bottom line is this game will check you into the Smackdown Hotel

Smackdown 3 is good

Smackdown 2 has over 60 wrestlers including The Rock, The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Rikishi, Trishetc and there is abut 15 hiddfen wrestlers incuding HBK, Stone Cold, Billy Gunn, The Stooges, Mean Street Posse, Debra ,Mick Foley , Cactus Jack, Micheal Cole and more. Other Hidden Features are WWF New York, TLC Match,Tornado Tag Table match and a Iron Man Special Guset Referee. The new matches includes Hell In a Cell, Table, Ladder, casket,Hardcore Tag,Hardcore 3 way and 4 way dances, etc. And people are saying it is impossible to put your created wrestler in the events, it is easy, all you have to do is go to ranking, then go right till you find "Others" then go down and your created wrestlers will be click on him, then go left till you find the title yoyu wanna go for and just click X. Its that easy. The CAW is the best ever with tons of moves and body parts. There is even Jeff Jarrett's and Goldusts head in the original section. Alos you can make the old undertaker (The Phenom). And if you go to original on the upper and lower body section and go to the bottom, there is the costumes for Jerry Lawler, Andre The Giant, Bob Backland and Sgt slaughter. even when you do the auto setting for moves and go to superstars' at the bottom is all of there moves. At some events your opponent gets injured by somebody and you have to fight an unknown Person e.g "Unknown H". if you beat them you get some different moves like a scoop reverse ddt, plus all the moves are real wrestlers moves from other fed like WCW, ECW and Japan. Just go searhes for smackdown 2 sites on the web and you can find out who they are. Also The Season mode is not that bad it is just pointless when you skip a match, that it shows a pic of both wrestelrs and the energy bars go down .What is the point!
